Chapter 84
Missing Mrs. Lowry: The Billionaire’s Wakeup Call
Chapter 84
Megan yielded to his touch. She seemed more docile than before, but Sullivan sensed a change in her. What was different?
Perhaps Megan had begun treating her role as Mrs. Lowry like a job. She shared his bed, met his needs, kept house to make his life comfortable, but the love had vanished.
Men can feel the presence or absence of love, and Sullivan was no exception. He tried to convince himself it didnât matter, yet there was a slight discomfort.
Megan said nothing.
So. Sullivan said, âI saw you bumped into Begonia, Is that why our Mrs. Lowry is so flustered?â
Megan looked up.
Their eyes met, each studying the other.
After a moment, Megan spoke softly, âSullivan, you donât have to doubt me all the time. I havenât been in touch with him behind your back, and it was just a coincidenceâ
Sullivanâs gaze tumed analytical. After a while, he gently caressed her face and said, âI believe you, Mrs. Lowry. Now, shall we go home for dinner?â
Before Megan could nod, he lifted her into his arms.
She couldnât pin down what had gotten into Sullivan,
He kissed her passionately, his hands gripping her waist. As they kissed, she felt the unmistakable change in his body, pressing against her with an assertive force,
Megan was uncomfortable. She tumed her face away, her delicate features tinged with a hint of womanly charm. âWerenât we going to have dinner?â
Sullivanâs eyes were deep. He was about to le
let her go when his phone rang from the glove compartment. It was Timothy.
While still holding Megan, Sullivan took the call.
Timothy was straightforward. âVictoriaâs back in town, and itâs her birthday party! Everyoneâs here celebrating, and weâre just missing you, Sullivan. Come on over!â
Sullivanâs eyes never left Megan as he listened to Timothy, and after the invitation, he chuckled, âWell, Iâll have to ask Megan if sheâll allow itâ
Timothy choked on the unexpected PDA moment
âSullivan, youâre really somethingâ¦â
âTil be there in a bit. Send me the addressâ
Sullivan ended the call and tossed his phone aside.
There was no real need to ask Megan for permission, the power dynamics in t
their marriage were clearâcut.
He glanced at Megan and said indifferently. âTil drop you off first.â

He knew Megan had heard the conversation, and he was aware of Victoriaâs special status. After all, Victoria had pursued him for years. A more attentive husband would avoid the appearance of impropriety.
Perhaps it was a test, but he agreed to go.
Megan showed no reaction
The drive back was silent.
Upon arriving at the villa, Sullivan didnât get out of the car. Instead, he leaned over to open the door for her. Megan paused, then offered a slight smile âSullivan, have fun!â
With that, she stepped out
Sullivan didnât drive away immediately but sat smoking a cigarette, the twilight casting a more defined shadow over his sharp features.
The ember glowed at his fingertipsâ¦.

After Sullivan arrived, he kept to himself on a comer sofa, occasionally sipping his drink and scrolling through his phone

Timothy approached with a beer mug in hand. Leaning in, he teased, âPlaying the brooding type, Sullivan? When people show up, you gotta give them some attention, a few kind words for old timen sake. Donât be a stranger; we all grew up together!â
