Chapter 92
Missing Mrs. Lowry: The Billionaire’s Wakeup Call
Chapter 92
Early in the morning, in the master bedroomâs walk in closet
Megan was ironing Sullivanâs shirt and had picked out a suitable tie, knowing today was the big shareholderâs meeting at the Lowry Group. To make a statement, she even added a tie clip for a touch of sophistication.
Suddenly, she felt arms wrap around her slender frame.
Megan was a bit surprised, considering the spat theyâd had the night before. She thought heâd give her the cold shoulder for at least a few days.
But Sullivan didnât bring up the issue with the movie tickets.
Holding his wifeâs delicate waist with one hand and examining the tie clip with the other, Sullivan said with a warm tone. âThe house just doesnât run the same without you, Megan.â
Megan responded with a light smile, âWell, Iâm back now, arenât I?â
No sooner had she spoken than Sullivan spun her around.
He pressed her against the glass of the display cabinet, lifting her slightly so she was halfâseated on his left thigh⦠Her robe fell open as her husband began to caress her.
Sullivan was like a wild animal that moming. But he wasnât truly looking to make love; he lazily claimed her as he asked without much interest. âYouâre back, but is your heart back too?â
Megan couldnât fathom his odd mood.
They had a marriage of convenience, what did love have to do with it?
Yet she didnât want to upset him and deal with the fallout, so she wrapped her arms around his neck and played along. âSullivan, if you want to go further, youâd better hurry. You have the shareholderâs meeting at nine, and you need to leave the house by eight.â
Sullivan immediately lost interest. He let go of her and went to freshen up in the bathroom, his voice carrying back to her, âSince when did you start doing Biancaâs job too?â
Megan flicked her long hair and smiled softly, âI thought youâd like it, Sullivan.â
In the bathroom, Sullivan stood in a pristine white robe, staring at his reflection when he heard Meganâs words, a smirk of mockery
crossing his face.
His Mrs. Lowry was quite hypocritic!
After Sullivan left, Megan returned upstairs to play the violin for a
for a while.
Around noon, Paxtonâs assistant, Luke, got in touch with her to discuss the details of studying with Paxton. They agreed to meet at their usual spot
Luke was efficient, as soon as they met, he presented a contract and said softly. âStarting next year, Paxton is planning 32 classical concerts worldwide. He wants you to be the secondary performer, with a guarantee of no less than six pieces per concert. This contract is Paxtonâs show of faith in you, Megan. This is unprecedented; Paxton has never shown such admiration for someone to offer such high regard before officially taking on an apprentice.â
He added, âPaxton is staking his reputation on you.â
Megan cherished this opportunity and looked over the contract again and again.
Luke chuckled, leaning back in his chair and flicking his nails, âPaxton used to beg you to study with him, and you never took him seriously. What made you change?â
Megan signed the contract without looking up, her voice soft, âJust cleared out some cobwebs in my head, thatâs all.
Luke was about to laugh but realized he couldnât. He became serious and said, âPaxtonâs out of town on business. When heâs back in Borough City, heâs likely to throw a banquet to announce your partnership. He made me promise you wouldnât decline.â
Megan was grateful for Paxtonâs support of course, she wouldnât turn it down.
Later, Luke escorted her downstairs with grace, opening the car door for her gentlemanly. They exchanged goodbyes with a smile. Their farewell was captured in a photograph, but only Lukeâs back was visible.
Megan got into the car, and the driver asked, âMrs. Lowry, shall we head back to the villa?â
Megan noticed there was still plenty of time and replied, âTake me to Pinecrest Hospital, please.â
They were on their way in a moment.

hour later, Megan arrived at the rehabilitation center of Pineemst Hospital
Joseph Quigley had been moved to a new room. With Alton coming back the country and Corpâs ambiguous words, it was clear to him that Megan had returned in Sullivan As her father, though pleased for his sonâs potential happiness, was understandably saddened by his daughterâs sacrifice and had been silent most of the day
After a brief stay, Megan decided to leave.
Core followed her out, hesitating befor speaking softly, âPlease donât be mad at your dad. Heâs been having a rough time these past lew days, not talking much or ealing wellâ
Tearn welled up in her eyes, and Megan gently wiped them away, her voice tender âHow could I be mad at powerless. Otherwise, why would I have to go back to Sullivan?â
