Chapter 139
After the Divorce: Crushed on My Lawyer Ex-wife
#139 âAll Right Then, Woo Me.â
Sophia and Alexander had traveled in a taxi to Lisaâs restaurant.
âThey kidnapped me because I had decided to help them by putting them in touch with a lawyer friend of mine,â Sophia explained during the ride.
Alexander pulled her close, and she wearily rested her head on his shoulder.
âSandro told me,â Alexander remarked. âAnd to be honest, I wasnât at all surprised that you suggested it.â
Sophia smiled sweetly at him.
âI was going to ask you for something when we got there,â Sophia continued.
âAnything,â Alexander replied, kissing her forehead.
âLisaâs food is great, but this Daniel has ruined her business and driven away most of the customers,â
Sophia began. âIâm sure she would have been very happy if you had written something nice about the place on your social media.â
Alexander laughed and nodded.
âYou didnât even have to ask me for that, Sophie,â he told her gently.
The taxi stopped in front of the restaurant, and Sophia was about to pay the driver when Alexander overtook her. She frowned and glanced at him.
âDonât you dare,â Alexander said as he left a hefty tip for the driver. The two got out of the taxi and headed towards the entrance.
âAnd what now, Mr. Stone? Youâre going to pay for everything?â Sophia raised an eyebrow quizzically.
âYes, and it is not subject to discussion. Let me be a gentleman,â he replied to her.
âI can pay for myself.â
âI have no doubt, Sophia. You can turn the whole world around on your own, but I wanted to be gentle with you. I wanted to woo you. Let me take care of you, not because you canât do it alone, but because I wanted to be your peace of mind.â
âPeace of mind,â Sophia repeated thoughtfully. âI liked the way it sounded. All right then, woo me.â
Alexander laughed at her and opened the restaurant door for her to pass in front of him. The moment they stepped inside, Lissa squealed cheerfully and rushed to hug Sophia.
âYou were my savior,â Lisa told her. â Your lawyer says we might win the case.
âI donât doubt it,â replied Sophia with a smile.
As soon as Lisa let her go and saw that Sophia was not alone, she blushed slightly at the sight of the attractive man with her.
âSophia, who is your friend?â she asked her.
Sophia thought for a second about how to introduce Alexander, but he interrupted and held out his hand to Lisa.
âIâm Alexander, Sophiaâs boyfriend. Nice to meet you, Lisa; Iâve heard great things about your food.â
âOh, not to brag, but my cooking is the one thing I canât be modest about,â Lisa laughed. âPlease come and feel free to call me whenever you need anything.â
Alexander wrapped his arm around Sophiaâs waist and led her to one of the empty tables. He pulled Sophiaâs chair and motioned for her to sit down. She rolled her eyes playfully but didnât object.
As soon as they settled in and ordered food, Sophia smiled at Lisaâs son, who was clearing one of the tables. The boy smiled back at her and nodded in gratitude.
âWhoâs that?â Alexander asked, smiling at the boy.
âJake,â Sophia said. âLisaâs son. Reminded me a lot of you.â
âIs that so?â Alexander raised an eyebrow.
âYes, when I spoke to him, his life story reminded me a lot of the problems you had in your youth. You were both fighters.â
Alexander smirked and shook his head.
âSo you were thinking about me these days in Vegas after all,â he smirked.
âI tried not to, but you kept sneaking into my mind,â Sophia admitted.
âI intend to continue to do so,â replied Alexander with a charming smile, his eyes reflecting a promise.
At that delightful moment, Lisa skillfully piled their table with the dishes they had ordered. A mouth-
watering aroma enveloped the air, tempting their taste buds.
âWow. This is definitely competition for my life-saver sandwich,â Alexander exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.
âOh, you cook?â inquired Lisa, intrigued.
âUnfortunately, rarely, but I do enjoy preparing meals for my loved ones,â
Alexander replied a hint of modesty in his smile.
âYou should come to the kitchen sometime and make something; I would be thrilled to diversify the menu, âsuggested Lisa, her enthusiasm evident.
âA must on my next visit,â Alexander promised.
Sophia beamed with warmth as they engaged in the conversation. She couldnât help but admire Alexander. Perhaps they still had a journey ahead, but in that moment, everything felt perfect to her.
âLetâs all take a picture together for my social media post; we canât do it without the chef,â Alexander proposed, pulling out his phone.
The three of them gathered, sharing smiles and laughter as Alexander expertly captured the moment.
Lisa thanked them once again and graciously stepped away, leaving the couple to savor their time together.
âThis is the tastiest pizza Iâve ever eaten,â admitted Alexander, savoring each bite.
âI told you I know the exact place,â Sophia grinned, her eyes sparkling with playful satisfaction.
âWith you, every place is right,â replied Alexander.
Sophia laughed, charmed by his words.
âYou are a great flatterer, Alexander, I grant you that.â
âYou havenât seen anything yet.â
âThen I canât wait for what you have in store for me,â she replied, her eyes filled with anticipation and a touch of mischief.
As Alexander savored the delectable flavors of the pizza, Sophia couldnât help but admire the way he carried himself. His presencé exuded a quiet confidence, and each subtle movement seemed calculated to captivate.
Sophia took a sip of her wine, her gaze lingering on Alexanderâs strong, masculine hands as they expertly maneuvered the fork. The flicker of candlelight danced in his eyes, adding a mysterious glint that drew her in. His laughter, a rich and melodic sound, filled the air, leaving an indelible impression on her senses.
Alexander, pausing mid-bite, met Sophiaâs appreciative gaze. A playful smirk played on his lips as he said, â Enjoying the view, are we?â
Sophia chuckled, a blush gracing her cheeks. âGuilty as charged. You make even pizza-eating look irresistible.â
As they continued their meal, Alexanderâs conversation became a seductive dance of words. His voice, a velvety timbre, had a magnetic quality that sent shivers down Sophiaâs spine. The tales he shared about his adventures were told with a hint of mischief, and each word seemed to weave a spell around her.
âSo, tell me, Sophia,â Alexander leaned in, his eyes gleaming with intrigue, â whatâs the most adventurous thing you want to do?â
Alexanderâs gaze held a spark of mischief as he leaned in, his eyes locking onto Sophiaâs. âSo, tell me, Sophia,â he inquired, âwhatâs the most adventurous thing you want to do?â
Sophia, sipping her wine, couldnât help but laugh. âActually, if I have to be honest, I canât wait to get home from this âvacation,â she confessed. âI think Iâve had a lot of adventures since Iâve been here. And I even long for a quiet evening.â
Alexanderâs eyes twinkled with amusement. âThen letâs get on the plane and get out of here,â he suggested, a playful grin on his face.
Sophia smirked, enjoying the banter. â That sounds great, but not before Iâve said goodbye to Sandro.â
Alexander leaned back, a contemplative look on his face. âFair enough. We canât skip the goodbyes.â
