Chapter 17
Submitting To My Billionaire Ex-Wife
Chapter 17
Genevieve gave him a contemptuous look and turned away to walk past him.
âHow did I fall for Anthony? I must be out of my mind!â she scolded herself inwardly.
Jasper waited by the car. When he saw her coming, he quickly opened the back door. âMaâamâ¦â
Genevieve took a look at his face and saw bruises and bloodstains at the corners of his mouth. Then, she bent
down into the car.
On the car, Genevieve hesitated and said, âJasper, take a day off tomorrow and go to the hospital for a checkâup. Iâll pay for it.â
Jasper smiled and changed the way he addressed Genevieve privately. âMs. Lawrence, donât worry about me. I know what to do. A cold compress will help, and the swelling will subside tomorrow. I was careless. Mr. Lawrence. warned me not to let Mr. Hoffman approach you before. Iâll pay more attention in the future.â
Genevieve smiled and felt relieved after hearing what he said.
However, public opinion on the Internet was uproar again when she woke up.
[Rosalie was taken advantage of on the casting couch of the entertainment industry and was almost bullied!]
[She just joined the company but was asked to be a bar girl. Where is the dignity of a newcomer in the entertainment industry?]
[Itâs not the first time for Eagle Entertainment to take advantage of a potential newcomer on the casting couch!]
Pictures posted on the Internet showed Rosalie filled with righteous indignation in a private room splashing wine
toward Leonardo.
From the pictures, Leonardo looked obscene, while Rosalie looked fearless,
The comments under the pictures had been overwhelming. Everyone condemned the industry for taking advantage of the newcomers, and they were also heartbroken and admired the âunrulyâ warrior, Rosalie.
Meanwhile, Eagle Entertainment was criticized badly and tagged on the trending topic.
Eagle Entertainmentâs shares kept plummeting, and Genevieveâs phone was occupied by plenty of calls.
Jasper finally got through to her. He said on the phone, âMs. Lawrence, Iâm right downstairs from your house. Reporters blocked Mr. Shelton at the door of his house. In a rage, he was then sent to the hospital because of heart disease. The company is in a mess now.â
Genevieve frowned and answered, âGot it. Iâll be right there.â

She quickly changed her clothes and went downstairs with her bag.
Jasperâs complexion was unpleasant, and he spoke in the car. âThere had never been such intense public opinion against Eagle Entertainment, and Mr. Shelton was hit hard this time. People in the industry were watching. If we canât handle it well, the whole industry may be affected. Weâll become the target of public criticism, and they will rub salt into the wound. I have contacted all the media platforms to delete the post, but now the topicâs popularity is rising sharply, so itâs not so effective.â
Genevieve pursed her lips. âWhat did Leonardo say?â
âThey are more anxious and have no way to defend themselves. Leonardo has been scolded to close the comment section, and now they want to clarify it through our side,â replied Jasper. He paused shortly and continued, âBy the way, Iâve found out who exposed the photos.â
Genevieve pursed her lips, and her eyes narrowed slightly. âIs it Rosalie?â
nodded. âShe put a phone in the private room yesterday in advance and took the photos secretly.â
Genevieve looked up in surprise. âWasnât it someone who had taken the photos for her?â
After all, there were many people present that day.
Jasper smiled, took a spare phone from his pocket, and handed it to Genevieve. He reported honestly, âMs. Lawrence, I had to be careful because it was the first time for you to show up to socialize yesterday.â
Genevieve was a little surprised. She took it over and watched the 20âminute video. Then, she immediately understood the situation.
She smiled at Jasper and gave him a thumbs up. âJasper, youâre a talent!â
Jasper blushed and touched his head embarrassedly. âBut itâs hard to tell others about it. After all, itâs not a good thing to take a video secretly.â
Genevieve laughed. âIâll find a way out.â
Jasper suddenly remembered something and immediately said, âBy the way, Hoffman Group is also behind this
public opinion.
As soon as he finished his words, Genevieveâs phone rang.
The numbers were familiar to her.
It was Anthony.
Genevieve did not answer the phone and hung up directly.
However, the phone kept ringing.

She blocked it directly, and not long after that, Brendan called.
Genevieve hesitated, as Brendan was the closest to her among Anthonyâs friends.
She picked the call up and heard Anthonyâs hoarse voice. He said, âGenevieve, donât rush to react on the Internet. Iâll
solve it.â
Genevieveâs face darkened, and she sneered. âIs it interesting to pin the blame on someone else?â
Anthony was silent for two seconds. âMy mom asked someone to do it, not me,â he explained.
He cleared the matter out and wanted her to know his attitude.
Genevieve chuckled and hung up the call directly.
âIs there a difference whether it was him or his mom who did it?â she thought in disdain.
Brendan looked at Anthonyâs gloomy face and could not help but complain, âTony, you will get me into trouble.
What if Genevieve does not answer my phone calls in the future?â
Anthony glanced at him coldly and threw the phone back to him.
The fact that Genevieve would answer Brendanâs call had already made him angry!
The comment section of Eagle Entertainment was almost overwhelmed by online public opinions.
However, Genevieve did not expose the video on hand in a hurry.
She needed a chance of victory in sight to defeat those who thought they were on the moral high ground, and that
was when it was best to fight back.
Therefore, even though the companyâs phone was about to be overwhelmed by calls, the headquarters of Eagle Entertainment remained indifferent as if nothing had happened.
At noon, Selene asked Genevieve to have lunch with her.
They arrived at the restaurant where they used to go.
âI went to the Lawrence mansion to find you. Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Lawrence said that you lived outside, so I came to your company,â said Selene.
âArenât they worried?â asked Genevieve.
Selene smiled and said, âThey are confident in their daughterâs ability. They said nothing but ask me to take you to eat something good.â
Genevieve breathed a sigh of relief, and the two entered hand in hand. Not many people were in the restaurant, so

they chose a table by the window.
Selene ordered the food somewhat impolitely. While waiting for the food, they heard a childâs voice at the door.
They turned to look in that direction and saw Rosalie and Quincey walk in. They were pushing a baby stroller where Samson, who looked like Anthony, was sitting.
They were like a motherâinâlaw and daughterâinâlaw with a good relationship traveling together.
Selene immediately recognized them and cursed in a low voice, âDamn, what bad luck. I lost my appetite for a good meal.â
Genevieve withdrew her gaze and raised her eyebrows nonchalantly. âThen pretend you didnât see it.â
As soon as she finished her words, Rosalie saw Genevieve sitting there. She held Quinceyâs arm and said piteously, âMrs. Hoffman, isnât that Ms. Lawrence? What a coincidence! I didnât expect Ms. Lawrence to eat here, too! Ms. Lawrence is now the director of Eagle Entertainment. She was the one who asked me to be a girl bar.â
When Quincey saw Genevieve, her face darkened as if she had seen trash. âYou took my sonâs money to eat in such a highâend restaurant and ruined the reputation of the Hoffman family online. How shameless!â she cursed.
Genevieve was momentarily stunned, and Selene could not help but stand up. âYou old shrew, who took your sonâs money? Your son cheated and supported a mistress and an illegitimate child. He ruined the familyâs reputation himself. How dare you still blame Genevieve?â Selene suddenly broke the silence in the restaurant.
Quinceyâs face turned pale in anger. As a noblewoman, she was used to being pampered by others, so she naturally would not admit defeat easily.
She retorted, âItâs because she is useless and has no ability to win her husbandâs heart. She threatened us by means, which was disgraceful. She married for three years but failed to give birth to a child. How dare she show up? At least Rosalle had given birth to the first grandson of the Hoffman family!â
