Chapter 158
The Beta’s Regret
Eros Pov
From the corner of my eye, I noticed Eden pause on her way to her room, watching us with a soft smile. She had always wanted me to open up, and now she was seeing that change.
When I stepped back from the hug. I looked Arthur in the eyes. âArthur, I continued âYouâve always been there for me. Even when I lost control, you stood by my side. Thank you,â
Arthurâs eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, he seemed speechless. âI. I donât think I deserve that. Erosâ he
stammered.
A frown creased my forehead. âWhat do you mean? 1 asked, a knot forming in my stomach. Something in his voice made me
Lineasy.
Arthur turned away, avoiding my gaze. âI need to tell you something he said, his tone dropping
My heart raced. âWhat is it. Arthur? Just tell me.â I said, trying to keep my voice steady
He took a deep breath, his hands trembling slightly. âI made a mistake. Eros. A terrible mistake
I froze, trying to process his words. âWhat kind of mistake?â I whispered, bracing myself for what was coming
Arthur hesitated, his face filled with regret and fear. âI was in trouble. I fell into debtâdebt I couldnât escape. I didnât know what to do. So, I made a deal⦠with the Rogue Kingâ
For a moment, the world seemed to stop. I stared at him, unable to believe what I was hearing. âWhat?â I managed to say, my throat tightening
âL⦠I led them here,â Arthur admitted, his voice shaking with guilt. âThe rogues.. I brought them to attack the pack.â
His confession hit me like a punch to the gut. The ground seemed to shift beneath me as the weight of his betrayal settled in. âYou led them here?â I repeated, my voice trembling with anger, the sense of betrayal cutting deep
Arthurâs face went pale. âI didnât mean for it to go this far,â he said, his voice pleading. âI thought you didnât care, and were heartless. But Iâm sorry,â
I shook my head in disbelief, fury rising inside me. âHow could you do this, Arthur? To your own pack!â I spat, barely keeping my anger in check. âYouâve put us all in danger. Youâve put the entire pack at risk!â
Just as I finished speaking, a low growl echoed through the trees. The scent of rogue wolves filled the air, unmistakable and threatening They were here.
In an instant, rogue wolves appeared from the shadows, their eyes glowing with a savage hunger. They surrounded us, closing in quickly.
Arthur drew his claws, his expression hardening with determination. âIâll make this right, he said, his voice steady despite the fear beneath it. âIâll fight beside you, Eros. I wonât let them take the pack.â
I stared at him, his face was filled with remorse and regret, but the betrayal and hurt were t

The rogues circled us, their eyes gleaming with malice. Edlen stood tense beside me, ready for the fight.
The weight of Arthurâs betrayal ran deep, it crushed me like nothing I had ever felt before. But as I looked around, seeing the rogue pack ready to attack, the pain inside me shifted into anger and a burning fury.
No matter what, I would fight to protect my pack, I would not let the pack fall. Not today.
