Chapter 232

I knew immediately that Susie was the reason why Eros stood before me now.

Eros looked furious and sad at the same time. He didn’t take his gaze off me. I knew what he saw.

His mate wearing transparent nightwear and coming out of his brother’s room. Everything about this scene screamed

wrong.

There was a heavy silence that stretched between us, before I finally recovered from the shock and softly whispered “Eros.”

He didn’t respond. He just looked at me like I had betrayed him.

I looked back to see Ryker come out of his room. He had a smirk on his face like he had done something with me.

I turned to Eros, who now stared at Ryker in anger.

“You are here.” Ryker said from behind me.

Eros clenched his teeth. I could see the way his jaw ticked furiously. He barely kept himself together.

“It looks as if I must have intruded in something… private.” Eros said.

Ryker chuckled. “So you know.”

Ispun around in anger. “Stop it!” I snapped at Ryker.

He looked away, and I turned back to Eros, who looked irritated. I put my hands together in an apologetic manner.

“Eros, this isn’t what it looks like.” I said in hope that he would believe me.

Eros scoffed. “I see.”

I thought of the best way to make him believe that I was saying the truth. I held his hand, but Eros immediately pulled away. I didn’t let that stop me; I continued.

“Ryker only helped me out. There is nothing between us.”

Eros raised a brow and his gaze flicked to Ryker. I wasn’t sure what Ryker did behind me, but Eros became more furious,

“Why are you here?” He asked Ryker.

“Why? Do you plan to beat me up or kill me like you tried to the other time?”

Eros didn’t break his blank expression. “At least I would get the satisfaction of seeing you in pain.“.

Ryker smiled. “Well, at least Eden gave me the satisfaction of her presence.”

Eros frowned harder.

“That isn’t true,” I said.

“How do I believe that?” Eros asked with a straight face.

He scoffed and looked away for a moment. I felt hurt. His words struck me deeper than I ever imagined.

“You don’t believe me.” I said.

Eros looked back at me with a firm gaze. “And should I?” He asked. “You never believed me either.”

I frowned. Was that what this was about? The argument we had last night?

Unable to bear the turn of conversation anymore, I grabbed a hold of Eros’s hand and pulled him along with me. I didn’t let go until we were in our room and the door was closed.

I turned on Eros, who immediately backed off.

I was surprised to see a different look on his face. He looked guilty.

With a sigh, Eros said. I’m sorry.”

He ran one hand over his face and continued. “I shouldn’t have said those words to you or reacted that way. I’m sorry.”

I looked at him in surprise.

“Do you mean it?” I asked in shock.

He nodded “Yeah, I was just jealous…”

“You are not mad at me for coming out of Ryker’s room?”

Eros paused. “Not really. I didn’t like the fact that you were with him, but I also knew that there was no way you would have slept with him that I wouldn’t know.” He moved closer. “I have decided to trust you, Eden. Besides, if you’d slept with him, I would feel it through our mate bond.”

My eyes widened. That was true.

I was suddenly moved to tears. It was surprising how Eros forgives me easily despite my flaws….

I moved closer to him. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have accused you of having an affair with Susie.”

Eros nodded. “I just need you to trust me. And I need you to know that I love you, no matter what.”

I smiled and nodded.

Eros placed a small kiss on my nose, and I giggled. He laughed and hugged me tightly.

“Are you sure you are not angry I came out of Ryker’s room?” I asked again.

Eros shook his head. “No. It was my fault after all. I shouldn’t have left you out in the rain. Besides, Ryker came to find me before all of this.”

I raised a brow in surprise. “He did?”

Eros nodded. “Yes. He threatened me to treat you right or he would take you away from me. I knew he was in love with you, and it only made me angry; I couldn’t imagine life without you

And here I was thinking Susie was involved.

Also, Ryker told me you were asleep and that he wouldn’t touch you, but that I should let you rest. And somehow, I trusted him. But when I couldn’t bear the fact that Ryker had spent too long in the same room with you, I came over quickly. I can’t deny I still had doubts that he would try to make you fall for him. In fact, I was scared that you’d loved him.”

“Of course not.” I said quickly. “Tonly love you.”

Eros smiled. I know now.

I playfully slapped himron–the arm, and he grabbed it. He placed a small kiss on it and carried me in his arms while I squealed.

He gently placed me on the bed and positioned himself above me.

“You know the kind of things I want to do to you whenever you hit me.” Eros smirked and spanked me slightly. I jumped, startled.

Then he placed soft kisses on my neck, making me moan… but I couldn’t help but ask “What about Susie? Why were you with her just now?”

Eros paused. “She followed me. I was coming to see you, and she followed me, begging for a chance to accept her.”

I chuckled. “She’s desperate.”

Eros rolled his eyes. “I only want you.”

With those words, Eros went back to planting kisses on my skin. His hands caressed me as we made slow and sweet love, deep into the night.
