Trading My Ex for His Uncle
âMom, you-â Jordyn began, Before she could finish, her motherâs panicked voice interrupted, âJordyn, Clark sent people to take us to see you. After we ate what they gave us, we fe we are. Ask Clark whatâs going on!â
A chill ran down Jordynâs spine, and she froze.
Clark had actually kidnapped her parents and brother to use as leverage against her!
Her motherâs anxious voice continued on the line.
Jordyn took a deep breath and replied, âMom, donât worry. Nothing will happen to you. Iâll go find Clark.â
She hung up and immediately headed to the company to find him.
After waiting all day, Jordyn.finally saw him leaving the office.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, she rushed up to him, her teeth clenched. âClark, this is between us. Let my parents and brother go!â
âHave you knelt and apologized to Nyla?â Clark asked.
His cold glare made Jordyn shiver. She couldnât bring herself to meet his eyes.
âIâ¦â She had intended to refuse, but she realized that saying so would only endanger her family further.
Clark warned, âI had Michael relay the message to you. As long as Nyla doesnât forgive you, you wonât see your parents. And donât even think about esca Tears welled up in Jordynâs eyes as she looked at him. âClark, are you really this cruel?â
Clarkâs face hardened with disdain. âIâm only asking you to beg Nyla for forgiveness. If I were truly cruel, with what youâve done to me, I could come up w to destroy you!â
The coldness and indifference in his eyes reminded Jordyn that he had never loved her, not even a little. If he did, he wouldnât be so indifferent to the betrayal.
She bit her lip and wiped away her tears. âClark, you never cared about me, did you?â
Clarkâs eyes flashed with contempt. âYou were just a plaything to me. Marrying you was only meant to make Nyla jealous. I didnât care at all about the child you were carrying.â
At that moment, Jordyn felt her heart shatter. A man who had never loved her from the start would never come to love her.
âFine, I understand. Iâll go and beg Nyla for forgiveness, she said and walked away.
Clark watched her retreating figure with a blank expression, his eyes devoid of warmth.
In the evening, Nyla received a call from the security guard informing her that a woman had come to see her.
When she reached the entrance, she saw it was Jordyn As she was about to turn away, Jordyn suddenly dropped to her knees.
âMs. Jayston, Iâm so sorry. I hope you can forgive me,â Jordyn pleaded.
Nyla turned around and noticed Jordynâs flat stomach. She was surprised, as Jordyn should have been noticeably pregnant by now.
Despite this, she had no interest in investigating further and said coldly, Jordyn, I have nothing to say to you. Please leave.â
She couldnât understand why both Clark and Jordyn had recently come to her to apologize.
âMs. Jayston, please forgive me. My family is in Clarkâs hands. He said he wouldnât let them go if you donât forgive me,â Jordyn pleaded.
