Chapter 471
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
âIf you want to die, no one will stop you. But are you really willing to die?â Clark retorted.
Jordyn lowered her eyes, unable to meet his gaze.
Clark stood up and left without casting another glance at her.
That night, Jordyn attempted suicide. Fortunately, she was found in time and rushed to the hospital, avoiding death.
When Clark heard the news, his expression didnât change. Coldly, he said, âWhatever. Let her be.â
Michael lowered his eyes, feeling a trace of sympathy for Jordyn. No matter what, she had been involved with Clark, yet he was so ruthless. He couldnât
wonder if Clark would treat him just as coldly one day when he too lost his usefulness.
Michael pushed the thought away and left Clarkâs office.
After spending a few days in the hospital without a visit from Clark, Jordyn realized that he wouldnât care even if she died right in front of him.
She knew she had to take a different approachâstarting with Nyla.
Just as she was about to reach out to Nyla, she received a call from Rebecca. They arranged to meet at a cafe near the hospital.
When Rebecca saw Jordynâs pale face and the bandages around her hand, her eyes filled with mockery.
âWhat do you want from me?â Jordyn asked.
Rebecca smiled. âI heard Clark made you kneel outside Nylaâs apartment to beg for her forgiveness, and she didnât even look at you.â
âWhat does that have to do with you?â Jordynâs expression turned cold, her gaze sharp.
âLook at yourself, in such a pitiful state. Youâve lost your baby, and Clark has discarded you like trash. If I donât help you, no one will,â Rebecca said.
âI donât need your help. And let me ask youâwas it you who told Clark the truth?â Jordyn asked.
Meeting Jordynâs accusatory stare, Rebecca shook her head. âI told you before, it wasnât me. But Iâve discovered something interesting that you might want to know.â
Rebecca handed her a file. âRead this. If you want to work with me, give me a call.â
Jordyn took the file and skimmed through it, her expression darkening with each page.
âIs this true?â she asked.
âIf you donât believe me, you can ask Clark. I bet Nyla must have said something to make him suspect heâs the one whoâs infertile after she met with him following her pregnancy. Thatâs why he went back to get tested again,â Rebecca replied.
At Jordynâs silence, Rebecca sighed. âIf I were you, I wouldnât let Nyla get away with it so easily after everything sheâs done.â
Jordyn slammed the file on the table and said coldly, âIâm not going to help you. If you want to take down Nyla, do it yourself. Donât think you can use me as your scapegoat.â
With that, she turned and stormed out in a fury.
Rebecca smiled but didnât try to stop Jordyn. It didnât matter if Jordyn refused now. Sooner or later, she would become a pawn in Rebeccaâs game.
After leaving the cafe, Jordynâs anger simmered. She hated Nyla even more. If it werenât for Nyla, she wouldnât be in this mess.
She wanted revenge on Nyla, but she refused to let Rebecca manipulate her.
Taking a deep breath, Jordyn hailed a cab and left.
In the days that followed, Jordyn returned to kneel outside Nylaâs apartment, staying there from morning until night.
As time passed, more people began to notice her. Discussions popped up online about why she was kneeling, and people soon dug up her past involving Nyla and Clark.
The story gained traction, and eventually, attention turned toward Nyla as well.
