Clark stood frozen, like a statue.
âMr. Sumner.â Michael called out.
âIâm going to find Nyla. I refuse to believe sheâs in danger!â Clark cried.
He shoved Michaelâs phone back into his hands and turned toward the elevator.
Michael quickly blocked his path. âMr. Sumner, thereâs a very important international meeting later. You canât leave now.â
The meeting was crucial for a major company deal. If Clark skipped it, it would severely offend the other party Clarkâs face went ashen, his hands clenching into fists at his sides. He hesitated for a moment, clearly tom.
After a deep breath, he turned and headed for his office. âKeep an eye on the police station. Notify me immediately if thereâs any news.â
âGot it, Michael promised.
As Clark reached the office door, he suddenly remembered the strange text message from Jordyn earlier. He spun around and ordered, âFind out where

He dialed Jordynâs number, but it rang with no answer.
Near a river on the east side of Saintornia, a man dressed in all black dragged a suitcase down the street. Suddenly, a phone rang from inside the suitca The man frowned, glanced around to ensure no one was nearby, and hurriedly pulled the suitcase along.

After waiting a moment, the man turned and walked away.
After the call disconnected, Clark stared coldly at his phone and sent another message.
Clark: [Jordyn, if Nylaâs accident is connected to you, I will not let you get away with it!]
He put his phone down and picked up some documents to review.
Less than half an hour later, Michael returned, looking grim.
He reported, âMr. Sumner, I canât reach Jordyn. I sent people to her home, but sheâs not there.â
âWhat?!â Clarkâs heart sank. âFind her phoneâs location Immediately. We have to locate her quickly! Her disappearance might be linked to Nylaâs accident!â
It seemed too coincidental for Jordyn to vanish right after Nylaâs accident.
âUnderstood, Mr. Sumner. Iâll get on it right away,â Michael replied.
After Clarkâs meeting, Michael returned to the office and reported, âMr. Sumner, Jordynâs phone is turned off, so we canât track its location.â
âThen find out where she was last seen! Keep investigating until we locate her!â Clark ordered.
Nyla didnât know how long she had been unconscious. When she woke up, she found herself tied to a chair, her hands and feet bound.
The surroundings were pitch black, filled with dust and a musty smell.
After a while, her eyes adjusted to the darkness, and she could barely make out her surroundings.
She seemed to be in some sort of basement. Even if she screamed for help, it would probably be useless.
