Trading My Ex for His Uncle
Nathaniel was in the middle of a business meeting in his office when the door was kicked open.
Damon walked in, his demeanor cold.
Troy followed closely behind, looking troubled. âMr. Preston, I couldnât stop Mr. Sumnerâ¦â
Nathaniel glanced at Damonâs tense face and replied flatly, âI understand. You can leave now.â

With the room now empty except for Damon and Nathaniel, the atmosphere grew tense.
Nathaniel looked at Damon, aware that the truth about Nylaâs incident could no longer be hidden. Their years of brotherhood were over.
He spoke up. âThe accident involving Nyla was partially my fault, but I didnât expect it to turn out like this. Damon, I-â
Before he could finish, Damonâs fist struck his face.
Nathaniel stumbled back several steps before regaining his balance, tasting blood in his mouth.
He wiped the blood from his lip and looked up at Damon. âDamon, I accept the consequences of whatever you decide. Iâm truly sorry.
Damon smirked. âThat punch was for the old you. Now, prepare for the bankruptcy of the Preston Group.
Nathanielâs eyes widened in fear. âNo⦠You canât do this to me!â
Damon chuckled darkly, his eyes merciless. âIf you could have someone kidnap Nyla, why canât I do this to you?â
Nathaniel argued, âI never intended to hurt her. The accident was just thatâan accident! And⦠I didnât know she would be kidnappedâ¦â
âAn accident?â Damonâs smile turned icy, his gaze sharp. âThen let the bankruptcy of the Preston Group be an accident too.â
The office door burst open again, and Rebecca was thrown in like a rag doll. Her clothes were disheveled, her hair a mess, and she looked utterly defea Seeing her like this, Nathaniel was stunned.
Hope flickered in Rebeccaâs eyes as she reached out tremulously toward Nathaniel. âNathaniel, save meâ¦
Nathaniel gnashed his teeth and instinctively shielded Rebecca. âDamon, the incident with Nyla was my fault. If you want to blame someone, blame me.
Damon clapped his hands and laughed. âYou really care about her, donât you? But did you know she had your secretary secretly do many things for her?
âWhat?!â Nathanielâs hand, reaching out to support Rebecca, froze in place. His eyes widened with disbelief and shock.
He stared at Rebecca, his voice tight with anger. âIs what Damon said true?â
Rebecca, unable to meet his gaze, choked out, âNathaniel, I was just momentarily blinded⦠I realize my mistakes. If you save me this time, I promise to âNever leave again? Nathanielâs head hung low, hiding his expression.
Rebecca nodded quickly. âYes, I promise!â
Suddenly, Nathaniel grinned. âBut arenât you about to die?â
Rebeccaâs expression froze.
