Chapter 493
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
âHe wants to die. What does that have to do with you?â Damon interrupted.
From Damonâs cold, unfeeling eyes, Spencer could tell he wasnât joking.
The driver trembled, afraid to move. After all, the person in front was Damonâs nephew. If anything happened to Clark, even ten of him wouldnât be enough to make up for it.
Damon glanced at the driver and said coldly. âIf youâre too scared to drive, get out.â
The driver felt a wave of relief and quickly exited the car.
Damon took the wheel himself, starting the car and driving straight at Clark.
Clarkâs eyes widened in terror as he sprinted to the side, but he was too close to the vehicle. One of his legs was struck, sending him flying and rolling se In the passenger seat, Spencer paled with fear, clearly shaken. He hadnât expected Damon to act so recklesslyâespecially since it was his nephew!
Damon got out of the car and walked over to where Clark lay on the ground, clutching his leg and moaning in pain.
Seeing Damon looming over him, Clark growled, âDamon, are you crazy? Nylaâs death is your fault! If you hadnât provoked Rebecca, Nyla wouldnât have- Argh!â
Damon stepped harshly on Clarkâs injured leg, eliciting a bloodâcurdling scream.
Watching Clarkâs pale face drenched in a cold sweat, Damon spoke slowly. âClark, Rebeccaâs sudden return to the country was your doing, wasnât it?â
Clarkâs insults caught in his throatâhe lay there stunned, like a chicken with its neck grabbed, unable to speak.
Damon chuckled. âWhat right do you have to question me? Jordyn, who kidnapped her, was your mistress, and Rebecca, who killed her, was someone y to die!â
Clarkâs face turned ashen, his lips trembling, his eyes filled with despair.
Yes, it was his fault. If he hadnât had an affair with Jordyn, none of this would have happened. Butâ¦.
âDamon, donât act so selfârighteous. If you hadnât wavered when Rebecca came back, Nyla wouldnât have met this end!
âYou got back together with Rebecca but couldnât stay with her properly, all the while entangling yourself with Nyla. That drove Rebeccaâs jealousy to ma âThatâs true,â Damon admitted with a smile, but his eyes were dark, filled with endless despair. âWe are all guilty, so we all deserve to go to hell..
Seeing Damonâs seemingly insane demeanor, Clark felt a surge of fear and instinctively backed away.
âYouâre crazy!â he shouted, continuing to retreat, terror in his eyes.
He shouldnât have come to see Damonâhe was a complete lunatic now!
Watching Clark back away, Damon calmly got up and left.
Later that afternoon, Damon received an angry phone call from Richard.
âDamon, you actually ran over your own nephew! Are you out of your mind? Do you really want to tear the Sumners apart?â Richard demanded. âItâs just Richard threatened, âIf you keep acting like this, I wonât let you off!â
After a lengthy rant, there was no response from Damon.
Richard gritted his teeth. âAre you even listening?â
âAre you done?â Damonâs cold voice came from the other end. âIf youâre done, Iâm hanging up.â
As soon as the words left his mouth, the call ended.
Furious, Richard threw his phone and began pacing the room, hitting the floor with his cane.
âWhat a family misfortune! How did I end up with such a wretched child?!â he cried.
