Chapter 509
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
There was a flicker in Spencerâs eyes, but he remained silent.
Richard paid no mind and continued. âIf remembering something is more painful than forgetting it, then itâs better not to remember. At least that way, one Hogg?â
Spencer finally understood Richardâs plan. âSo you brought in that hypnotist to deal with Mr. Damon?â
Richard smiled. âMr. Hogg, thatâs a harsh way to put it. I simply want my son to stop suffering.â
Spencerâs eyes narrowed. âHave you ever considered what Mr. Damon thinks about this?â
âHeâs obsessed with Nyla right now. If I asked him, heâd never agree. But look at how thin heâs become. If he keeps tormenting himself like this, his health will fail in a few years. Do you expect me to watch my son die young over a deceased person emotional as he spoke.
Spencer wasnât interested in arguingâit wouldnât change anything, and he knew he couldnât make Richard listen.
âWhat do you want me to do?â he asked.
âYou donât need to do anything specific. Just ensure that after Damon forgets that woman, you donât bring her up in front of him again. Also, make sure that people from Prospectus Technology donât mention her either.â
Richard spoke with a detached air, showing no remorse for Nyla. It was as if he were discussing a trivial matter.
Spencerâs gaze was cold. âDo I have a choice?â
Richard smiled. âMr. Hogg, youâre a smart man. You should know what to do. After all, if Damon forgets Nyla, it will benefit everyone.â
Spencer clenched his hands at his sides, his eyes filled with anger and frustration. He knew he couldnât change Richardâs mind, and there was no chance for him to help Damon. Even his phone had been taken by the men in black on the way there.
âMr. Richard, I finally understand why Mr. Damon decided to cut ties with you,â he said.
Richard threw his cup to the floor, shattering it into pieces and filling the room with a tense silence.
He glared at Spencer, his voice laced with menace. âMr. Hogg, youâre just a secretary. Mind your own business. Interfering wonât benefit you. If I can mak Spencerâs smile was mocking. âI have no doubt about your capabilities. I just hope that when Mr. Damon remembers everything, you wonât regret it,â
âYou better hope that day never comes, or he wonât forgive you either,â Richard retorted.
With that chilling statement, he stood up.
âMr. Hogg, youâll remain here until Damonâs hypnosis is complete. But I advise you not to attempt an escape. The consequences would be dire,â he warned.
After Richard left, two men in black arrived to escort Spencer to a room.
Three days of house arrest later, Spencer was finally allowed to leave.
As he walked out of the room and down the long hallway to the living room, he saw Damon sitting on the sofa, his back turned to him.
