Chapter 579
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
âIâll leave the house, the car, and all the savings to you and Kayden. I donât want anything,â Noah said.
He then pushed past the stunned Regina and walked away.
Watching him leave with such determination, Regina finally panicked. She quickly chased after him and blocked his path. âHoney, Iâm sorry! Donât leave Noah looked at her expressionlessly. âLetâs get a divorce. Iâll prepare the papers, and youâll just need to sign them.â
âNo!â Regina cried, her eyes brimming with tears.
Confusion and disbelief clouded her gaze. She couldnât understand how a simple fight between their son and a classmate had escalated to this point.
What she didnât realize was that this was just the last straw. Her previous tantrums and unreasonable behavior had led to this moment, but she thought it was just about this one incident.
âI wonât divorce you! Noah, donât even think about leaving me and our son! I know youâve been seeing that new female intern at the company. She calls you after work under the guise of discussing work. Donât think Iâll let you have your way!â Regina shouted.
âThink what you want. Either way, Iâm set on leaving this marriage,â Noah countered.
After todayâs events, he understood clearly that staying with Regina would only drag him down further, making him just like her.
âIf you dare to divorce me, Iâll take Kayden and jump out of the hospital window!â Regina threatened.
Suddenly, she scooped up Kayden and dashed toward the end of the hallway.
Noah was appalled and sprinted after her, but he was too late.
Just as Regina pressed the struggling Kayden against the window, Noahâs face turned pale.
âRegina, are you insane?! Put our son down!â he shouted.
Regina smirked at him, her eyes wild. âIf you mention divorce again, Iâll drop Kayden out the window, and Iâll jump after him!â
Noah stared at her, his anger boiling over as his chest heaved. This woman was out of her mind!
Kayden, frightened by his motherâs fierce demeanor, burst into tears.
His cries drew the attention of Damon and others nearby.
Seeing Reginaâs frantic behavior, Nyla quickly covered Masonâs eyes and told Damon, âYou handle this. Iâll take Buddy downstairs first.â
Damonâs gaze flicked over her face as he replied quietly, âOkay.â
After Nyla left with Mason, Damon turned to Noah. âWhatâs going on here?â
He had asked Noah to come to deal with the fight between Kayden and Mason, but it had escalated to the point where Regina appeared ready to jump out a window in Noah hung his head in shame. âMr. Sumner, Iâll take care of this. I promise to give you a satisfactory answer.â
Damon frowned, his icy gaze sweeping over Regina and the stillâsobbing Kayden, but he remained silent.
Taking a deep breath, Noah looked at Regina, his expression now calm. âJust put our son down. I wonât mention divorce again.â
Regina lit up, though she still hesitated.
Noticing her uncertainty, Noah continued. âI promise I wonât bring it up again.â
With that assurance, Regina finally set Kayden down.
Pale with terror, Kayden immediately plopped down on the floor, having wet his pants.
Noah turned to Damon, his face grim. âMr. Sumner, I apologize for this scene. I will take my son and wife to apologize properly another day.
As for my position as sales manager, I fear I might not-â
