Chapter 625
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
Brandon sneered. âDonât even think about it. Iâd rather give my shares to a beggar than to someone like youâ
a schemer who expects everything without putting in any effort.â
âYou!â Clark shouted, raising his fist and swinging it toward Brandonâs face.
Before he could make contact, a boneâchilling voice stopped him. âIf that punch lands, I can guarantee youâll never set foot in the Sumner Group again.â
Damonâs tone lacked any hint of threat, but Clark felt certain he meant every word.
Richard snapped back to his senses, shouting, âClark! I didnât call you here tonight to fight! If you want to fight, take it outside!â
This provided Clark with a way to back down. He lowered his hand and glared at Brandon. âIâll let you off tonight, but youâd better not have done anything illegal at the company these past few years. When I tak Brandon scoffed. âYouâre all talk with nothing in hand. If the company ends up in the hands of someone useless like you, itâll go bankrupt sooner or later.â
randon, do you have a death wish?!â Clark growled.
Seeing Clark clench his fist again, Cindy quickly stepped in to pull him back. âClark, thereâs no need to argue with him now. Once youâre in charge, you can deal with him then.â
Once Clark took control of the company, no matter how well Brandon performed, they could always find something to criticize and force him out. Arguing in the living room now would only make Clark look incompetent.
Clark took a deep breath, angrily sitting down on the couch, his face dark.
With the room finally quiet, Richard turned to Damon. âI wonât buy your shares at market price. The most Iâll offer is half the market price. If yo be seeing Dr. Herbert.â
Damonâs expression remained calm as he replied, âBefore coming here today, I met with Spencer.â
Surprise flickered in Richardâs eyes, but he quickly snorted. âSo what? Does Spencer know where Dr. Herbert is?â
âHe told me about what happened five years ago. Back then, you had me hypnotized to make me forget Nyla so that I would take over the Sumner Group.
âNow, five years later, you bring in a doctor to restore my memory just to wrest the company from my hands. Itâs clear the Sumner Group has Richard remained arrogant and dismissive as he stared at Damon. âSo what? Youâre the one who wants to restore your memory. You canât ex Damon smiled and replied, âYouâre right. Thatâs why Iâve decided not to restore my memory. You can tell Dr. Herbert to leave.â
He got up and walked away.
Everyone in the living room, except for Brandon, was stunned. They stared at Damonâs back in disbelief for several seconds.
It wasnât until Damon was nearly at the door that Richard snapped out of it, shouting, âDamon, stop right there!â
This wasnât how he had expected things to unfold. He hadnât anticipated that Damon would choose not to restore his memory.
Richard knew Damon was using this as leverage, but there was nothing he could do. After all, while Damon could choose not to regain his memory, he still needed to take the Sumner Group back from him.
