Chapter 1069
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âIs this Francine? Your brother is still sleeping. Did something urgent happen? Should I wake him up, or
do you want to call him again later?â asked the woman.
At the mention of her name, Francine immediately realized the woman obviously knew Jeremy well.
However, she did not recognize the womanâs voice, so she had no idea whether it was anyone from
their circle of friends.
Still, she knew she should not say more in front of Corinne, so she said to the woman on the phone,
âItâs nothing urgent. Iâll call him again later.â
After that, she quickly hung up the phone and looked toward Corinne to check her reaction. If it were
any other woman, she would have snatched the phone away from Francine and asked the same
question Francine did, or even straight away cursing her.
However, Corinne was not any other womanâshe did not even react. She simply looked away and
said nothing.
âSh*t. Her reaction is not normal. This is all my fault. I should say something to help Jeremy outâ¦â
thought Francine. Thus, she quickly explained, âCorinne, Iâm sure this is just a misunderstanding. That
woman is probably the personal assistant my brother hired for his business trip since Tommy didnât go
with him this time. I mean, have you seen him without a personal assistant before? Let me tell you, heâs
useless without one.â
Corinne smiled calmly. âCan a mere personal assistant go into his room when heâs still sleeping and
pick up his calls?â
Francine scratched her head. âUmm⦠Maybe that personal assistant snuck in without my brotherâs
knowing so she could seduce him! I mean, itâs not that surprising if you really think about it. Even I have
to admit Jeremy is quite the catch. But you should know heâd never do anything to hurt you.â
Corinne laughed out loud. âFine. Whatever. Believe him all you want. Iâm just going to take my shower
and sleep now.â
After that, she walked back into the mansion and up to her room to shower.

Francine froze, thinking she was really in deep sh*t this time. She waited until Corinne had gone back
inside before calling Jeremyâs number again. This time, it was he himself who picked up.
âHello?â greeted Jeremy with a tinge of impatience.
âJeremy, did you just wake up?â whispered Francine cautiously.
âYeah.â As if the sleepiness in his voice was not obvious enough.
Francine gasped. âWho was the woman who picked up your phone just now? Did⦠Did you sleep with
her?â
After a brief silence, Jeremy said coldly, âIsnât it night where you are right now? Why are you not
sleeping? Just why are you calling me?â
Francine shrank her neck in fright. âUmm⦠Iâm not calling for myself but forâ¦Corinne.â
âDid something happen to her? Is she okay?â asked Jeremy quickly in a tone that was one octave
higher than his usual tone.
âDonât worry, sheâs fine. Itâs just⦠She was beside me when the woman picked up your phone and,
uh⦠She heard everything the woman said. Hey Jeremyâ¦youâre not cheating on Corinne, right?â
All she got back as a response was the beep as Jeremy hung up on her without warning.
Francine stared at her phone with a frown, thinking, âAll hell is about to break loose at home. What
should I do? If I had known this was going to happen, I wouldnât have called Jeremy just to make a
point to Corinne!â
