Chapter 1082

The Day I Kissed An Older Man

Corinne was surprised to hear Mother Cathrina talking about the past. She did not really know what

happened to her back then, and all she heard was Mother Cathrina was a wanderer who happened to

stumble into the convent and became a nun after receiving permission from the abbess. However, for

some reason, the abbess did not allow her to be fully professed.

Mother Cathrina sighed and looked at Corinne wearily. Ć¢Ā€ĀœThe fact that you can’t forgive them means

you’re still stuck in the past.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Corinne would have been angry had anyone else said that. However, she knew she owed Mother

Cathrina for the life she had, so she simply asked softly, Ć¢Ā€ĀœTell me, Mother Cathrina—have you forgiven

all the people who have hurt you in the past?Ć¢Ā€Ā

Mother Cathrina’s eyes darkened. Ć¢Ā€ĀœNo. I haven’t. Nor will I ever.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Some strands of her hair had escaped out of her headdress as though reminding her all the hurt, the

pain, and the worries of the past would always be with her, no matter where she went.

After a pause, Mother Cathrina added, Ć¢Ā€ĀœI actually have a son, Corinne. Not a day goes by without me

missing him.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Corinne was a little taken aback by the revelation. This was the first time she ever heard Mother

Cathrina mentioning her son.

Ć¢Ā€ĀœHow old is he now?Ć¢Ā€ĀBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updates…

Mother Cathrina took a deep breath and sighed. Ć¢Ā€ĀœHe should be thirty years old this year. I wonder how

he’s doing now? Maybe he has his own family now.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Corinne frowned in confusion. Ć¢Ā€ĀœDidn’t you ever think of going back to have a look?Ć¢Ā€Ā

Ć¢Ā€ĀœWhat’s the point of doing that? Plus, I don’t ever want to see his father again,Ć¢Ā€Ā replied Mother Cathrina,

looking down.

Corinne frowned and blinked. Ć¢Ā€ĀœYou mean your ex-husband? Why not? Did he do something very bad to

you? Like hitting you orĆ¢Ā€Ā¦Ć¢Ā€Ā

It happened so long ago that Mother Cathrina needed some time to think.

Ć¢Ā€ĀœNo, he never hit me, but he has betrayed me countless times.Ć¢Ā€Ā After saying that, she patted Corinne

meaningfully on the shoulder. Ć¢Ā€ĀœTrust no men, Corinne. They’re all liars, except forĆ¢Ā€Ā”Ć¢Ā€Ā

Ć¢Ā€ĀœIsn’t that a bit extreme? I’m sure there are some honest men out there. Take, for example, me!Ć¢Ā€Ā said

Jason suddenly as he walked into the hall.

Ć¢Ā€ĀœAnd you are?Ć¢Ā€Ā asked Mother Cathrina, looking at him.

Ć¢Ā€ĀœHe’s an acquaintance of mine,Ć¢Ā€Ā chimed Corinne while glaring at him in annoyance.

Ć¢Ā€Ā˜What? We’ve known each other for so long, and she can’t even find it in herself to call me a friend?’

thought Jason, at a loss for words.

He smiled wryly at Mother Cathrina and introduced himself. Ć¢Ā€ĀœHello, Mother Cathrina. My name is Jason

Talbot. I’m a friend of Corinne’s. I came with her to visit you.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Mother Cathrina gazed at Jason questioningly before turning to Corinne with a worried frown. Ć¢Ā€ĀœCorinne,

you didn’t tell me you have a boyfriend.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Ć¢Ā€ĀœI do have a boyfriend, but it’s not him. It’ll be more accurate to say he’s my boyfriend’s friend instead of

my friend,Ć¢Ā€Ā said Corinne honestly.

Mother Cathrina fell silent for a moment before asking, Ć¢Ā€ĀœWhy is he here instead of your boyfriend?Ć¢Ā€Ā

Corinne shook her head. Ć¢Ā€ĀœJason and I just happened to bump into each other while I was dining in one

of the homestays near here. He said he wanted to come with me to the covenant, so here we are.Ć¢Ā€Ā

Mother Cathrina looked at Jason again with the same questioning eyes again. Ć¢Ā€ĀœJason, can you give us

the room for a moment? I have something I’d like to say to Corinne alone.Ć¢Ā€Ā
