Chapter 1082
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne was surprised to hear Mother Cathrina talking about the past. She did not really know what
happened to her back then, and all she heard was Mother Cathrina was a wanderer who happened to
stumble into the convent and became a nun after receiving permission from the abbess. However, for
some reason, the abbess did not allow her to be fully professed.
Mother Cathrina sighed and looked at Corinne wearily. Ć¢ĀĀThe fact that you canĆ¢ĀĀt forgive them means
youĆ¢ĀĀre still stuck in the past.Ć¢ĀĀ
Corinne would have been angry had anyone else said that. However, she knew she owed Mother
Cathrina for the life she had, so she simply asked softly, Ć¢ĀĀTell me, Mother CathrinaĆ¢ĀĀhave you forgiven
all the people who have hurt you in the past?Ć¢ĀĀ
Mother CathrinaĆ¢ĀĀs eyes darkened. Ć¢ĀĀNo. I havenĆ¢ĀĀt. Nor will I ever.Ć¢ĀĀ
Some strands of her hair had escaped out of her headdress as though reminding her all the hurt, the
pain, and the worries of the past would always be with her, no matter where she went.
After a pause, Mother Cathrina added, Ć¢ĀĀI actually have a son, Corinne. Not a day goes by without me
missing him.Ć¢ĀĀ
Corinne was a little taken aback by the revelation. This was the first time she ever heard Mother
Cathrina mentioning her son.
Ć¢ĀĀHow old is he now?Ć¢ĀĀBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Mother Cathrina took a deep breath and sighed. Ć¢ĀĀHe should be thirty years old this year. I wonder how
heĆ¢ĀĀs doing now? Maybe he has his own family now.Ć¢ĀĀ
Corinne frowned in confusion. Ć¢ĀĀDidnĆ¢ĀĀt you ever think of going back to have a look?Ć¢ĀĀ
Ć¢ĀĀWhatĆ¢ĀĀs the point of doing that? Plus, I donĆ¢ĀĀt ever want to see his father again,Ć¢ĀĀ replied Mother Cathrina,
looking down.
Corinne frowned and blinked. Ć¢ĀĀYou mean your ex-husband? Why not? Did he do something very bad to
you? Like hitting you orâ¦âĀĀ
It happened so long ago that Mother Cathrina needed some time to think.
Ć¢ĀĀNo, he never hit me, but he has betrayed me countless times.Ć¢ĀĀ After saying that, she patted Corinne
meaningfully on the shoulder. Ć¢ĀĀTrust no men, Corinne. TheyĆ¢ĀĀre all liars, except forĆ¢ĀĀĆ¢ĀĀ
Ć¢ĀĀIsnĆ¢ĀĀt that a bit extreme? IĆ¢ĀĀm sure there are some honest men out there. Take, for example, me!Ć¢ĀĀ said
Jason suddenly as he walked into the hall.
Ć¢ĀĀAnd you are?Ć¢ĀĀ asked Mother Cathrina, looking at him.
Ć¢ĀĀHeĆ¢ĀĀs an acquaintance of mine,Ć¢ĀĀ chimed Corinne while glaring at him in annoyance.
Ć¢ĀĀWhat? WeĆ¢ĀĀve known each other for so long, and she canĆ¢ĀĀt even find it in herself to call me a friend?Ć¢ĀĀ
thought Jason, at a loss for words.
He smiled wryly at Mother Cathrina and introduced himself. Ć¢ĀĀHello, Mother Cathrina. My name is Jason
Talbot. IĆ¢ĀĀm a friend of CorinneĆ¢ĀĀs. I came with her to visit you.Ć¢ĀĀ
Mother Cathrina gazed at Jason questioningly before turning to Corinne with a worried frown. Ć¢ĀĀCorinne,
you didnĆ¢ĀĀt tell me you have a boyfriend.Ć¢ĀĀ
Ć¢ĀĀI do have a boyfriend, but itĆ¢ĀĀs not him. ItĆ¢ĀĀll be more accurate to say heĆ¢ĀĀs my boyfriendĆ¢ĀĀs friend instead of
my friend,Ć¢ĀĀ said Corinne honestly.
Mother Cathrina fell silent for a moment before asking, Ć¢ĀĀWhy is he here instead of your boyfriend?Ć¢ĀĀ
Corinne shook her head. Ć¢ĀĀJason and I just happened to bump into each other while I was dining in one
of the homestays near here. He said he wanted to come with me to the covenant, so here we are.Ć¢ĀĀ
Mother Cathrina looked at Jason again with the same questioning eyes again. Ć¢ĀĀJason, can you give us
the room for a moment? I have something IĆ¢ĀĀd like to say to Corinne alone.Ć¢ĀĀ
