Chapter 1105
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Thus, Jeremy asked Corinne to eat more.
Corinne frowned as she watched Jeremy leave with Joey. âWell, I guess I have some more room in my
tummy, so I might as well eat more.â
The personal chef in the summer villa was quite skilled at cooking so she heartily enjoyed the food.
However, what she did not enjoy was Lucas staring at her eating from across the table.
Lucas narrowed his eyes as he watched Jeremy leave the dining room. Being a smart cookie, he
quickly understood Jeremy did that to give him some time with Corinne.
âHe might come off as cold most of the time, but he can be quite thoughtful. Itâs either that, orâ¦heâs just
paving the road to call in a favor in the future when I become his brother-in-law.â
âCorinne, do you have anything else youâd like to eat? I can ask Edmund to buy it for you,â said Lucas

However, Corinne did not appreciate his concern at all. She frowned and gave him a warning look. âNo,
thanks. Mister Lucas, I know youâre trying to make up for all the hurtful things you did to me before, but
Iâd much prefer it if you stop being overly concerned with me.â
Lucas sighed with dismay. âFine. Iâll try to keep that in mindâ¦â
Corinne took a bite of her sandwich and, while chewing, suddenly thought of something.
âBy the way, Mister Lucas, did something happen in the past that caused Jeremy, Zeke, and Gerald to
hold a grudge toward Jason?â she asked with a raise of her eyebrow.
Lucas was quite taken aback by her question. âWhy do you ask?â
âBefore you came in, Jeremy and Jason were having a go at each other. There was even mention of
Jason breaking up somebodyâs relationship⦠I was wondering if you knew anything about it. If you do,
can you tell me about it?â
Even though Lucas would not call Jason his best friend, they were still friends. He thought it would not
be appropriate for him to comment on his friendâs personal life.
âCorinne, youâre a girl. Itâs best not to meddle in us menâs affairs,â said Lucas.
Corinneâs hopeful expression fell. She then scoffed and said nothing more.
Lucas started to panic a little when he saw her reaction. âD*mnit! Iâve made her angry again⦠And just
when she decided to strike up a conversation first.â
After some hesitation, he made up his mind to tell Corinne about what happened in the past. However,
just as he opened his mouth, they heard Phoebeâs wails coming from outside the dining room.
âJeremy, please! Canât you think of something to get Anya out? Wonât you do it for old timeâs sake? You
have my word that she wonât come between you and Miss Corinne anymore. Please! I beg youâ¦â
âOld timeâs sake? You mean how she lied to me for more than ten years? There were no feelings to
begin with! Miss Phoebe, seeing as youâre my elder, Iâve actually restrained myself from saying more
hurtful things, so I hope you wonât push your luck,â said Jeremy coldly.
âBut Anya is innocent. She loves you so, so, so much!â
âYou should be thankful I didnât pursue the matter when I found out you two lied to me. You dare ask
me for a favor?â
