Chapter 1152
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne looked around the yard. âThis will be my last time standing here.â
The only person she could not really let go was Joey.
Soon, night came. After dinner, Corinne took her shower and was about to read a bedtime story to Joey
when her phone rang. She picked up her phone and saw Jeremyâs name on the screen.
âWhatâs up with him? Why is he calling me every day now?â she wondered.
As much as she did not want to talk to him, Corinne forced herself to answer the phone as she did not
want to make Jeremy suspicious.
âHave you slept?â asked Jeremy softly. It sounded like he had already moved on from what happened
last night.
âWhat do you think? Would I have answered your phone if I was sleeping?â asked Corinne
monotonously.
âI asked because I was afraid Iâd woken you up,â said Jeremy darkly.
âIf youâre really afraid of waking me up, you wouldnât have called at this hour!â said Corinne, hitting the
nail on the head.
After a few seconds of silence, Jeremy said softly again, âI was busy, and this is the only hour I can call
you. How was your day? Did you eat properly?â
Corinne felt a little disgusted by his concern. She would rather not hear it, so she pressed the phone on
Joeyâs ear instead, saying, âYour daddy misses you, Joey. Why donât you talk to him for a while?âBooks

âDada!â shouted Joey happily.
Jeremy was speechless.
âHello? Dada? Hello? Helloâ¦â repeated Joey when he did not receive a reply from Jeremy.
Jeremy sighed. âHello, Joey.â
Joey giggled happily. âDada, come back. Joey misses Dada.â
âSoon, Joey, soon. You need to be a good boy while Iâm not there, you hear?â
âYes, Dada!â
âWhat is your mommy doing?â
Joey was stunned. Then he looked down sadly. âNo Mama⦠Noâ¦â
He thought Jeremy was talking about Anya, but Joey did not want to see her as his mother since she
would always scold and hit him.
Jeremy rubbed the bridge of his nose. âWhat is your sissy doing?â
Joey looked at Corinne with shiny eyes. âAuntie Sissy lying next to Joey! She good. Joey likes Auntie
Sissy!â
The call was not on speakerphone, so Corinne could only hear Joeyâs end of the conversation.
She was a little tired holding up the phone for him, so she impatiently took back the phone and said,
âMister, is there anything else? If not, Iâm going to put Joey to bed now.â
âThanks for doing this, little rascal. I know itâs hard to take care of a child unrelated to you while
pregnant,â said Jeremy apologetically.
Corinne scoffed. âIf you really think that, youâd be here to take care of yourself now. All you know how
to do is pay me lip service!â
After that, she hung up the phone.
