Chapter 1157
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne was pleasantly surprised when she entered the living room. Even though the building looked
shabby and old from the outside, the inside of Jasonâs unit was clean and tastefully decorated. It did
not look like anyone was living there at all.
âHave a seat while I get you something to drink,â said Jason before going to the kitchen.
Corinne sat on the sofa and surveyed her new surroundings quietly when a glass of milk suddenly
appeared in front of her.
âI hope you donât mind giving you milk instead of a soft drink since youâre pregnant,â said Jason with a
wide grin.
âThank you,â said Corinne with a polite smile after accepting the glass of milk.
Jason sipped his can of Cola and sat on the armchair next to the sofa.
Corinne gazed at the glass of milk intently while swirling it slowly.
Jason did not know whether to laugh or cry when he saw her doing that. âAre you afraid that Iâve spiked
the milk with something?â
Corinne looked up at him. âNope. I was checking to see if the milk has gone bad since you said you
rarely come here. God knows how long this thing has been in your fridge.â
Jason laughed throatily. âI went to the supermarket yesterday to get it for you. All the things in the fridge
are freshly bought, so you can eat them without worry.â
Corinne only drank the milk after making sure there was no weird smell or blobs in it.
Jason rested her chin in his hand and looked at Corinne playfully. âAre you really going to leave Jeremy
this time?â
The milk instantly turned sour inside Corinneâs mouth the moment she heard Jeremyâs name. âOf
course. Do you think Iâm doing all this for fun?âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated

Jason narrowed his eyes. âIf you donât mind, can you tell me the reason?â
Corinne did not really want to tell him, but she owed him for helping her so she gave him the short
version of the story. âHe lied to me and played with my feelings.â
âJust because of that?â asked Jason with a raised eyebrow.
Corinne frowned. âIsnât that serious enough? Whatâs the point of staying together if thereâs no trust
between us anymore?â
Jason sighed. âThis isnât a fairytale world weâre living in. We adults need to compromise a little when it
comes to matters of love. Thereâs no such thing as pure love.â
Corinne did not refute his reasoning, but she still could not accept it. âFine. Letâs just chalk it down as
me being naive. I guess I should just stay away from relationships from now on.â
âOh no. Please donât do that. There are still nice guys in the world. Youâre even talking to one right
now!â said Jason with a smile while pointing at himself.
Corinne rolled her eyes at him. âSays the guy who claims thereâs no such thing as pure love. Donât tell
me you expect me to believe youâre a guy whoâll stay loyal till the very end, do you?â
Jason sat up a little straighter. âI donât expect you to believe that. But, what I can promise you is Iâll
never lie to you or pretend to be someone Iâm not. Corinne, you should know how I feel about you,
right? Why donât you give me a chance now that youâve decided to leave Jeremy?â
Corinne looked at him suspiciously. âAre you being serious, Jason?â
Jason nodded. âDo I look like Iâm not?â
Corinne chuckled coldly. âDonât forget Iâm carrying Jeremyâs baby inside of me. I might have decided to
leave him, but that doesnât mean Iâm going to get rid of the baby. Can you accept a woman whoâs
carrying another manâs baby?â
âYup, I can. But, you have to give me a baby in the future too,â said Jason without hesitation.
Corinne was speechless.
