Chapter 1161
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âYou look happy. Who are you texting?â asked Lucas while holding a coffee cup after glancing at Jason.
They were both in his office.
âNo one. I mean, it was one of my employees. He had some questions about work,â said Jason before
he quickly put away his phone.
Lucas glanced at him again. âIâm surprised you still have time to drop by my office when youâre so
obviously busy with your work.â
Jason picked up his coffee and took a sip before replying, âI wouldnât say itâs busy work, but it sure is
tedious. Iâm so annoyed with it, so I came here to hang out with you.â
Lucas did not have the luxury of hanging out with Jason since he would have to go to a meeting.
At that moment, Edmund knocked on the door and entered without waiting for Lucas to give his
permission.
âSir, something bad has happened!â he said nervously.
Lucas looked up at him. âWhat?â
Edmund glanced at Jason. He knew he was Lucasâ best friend, so he did not bother to hide the news
from him. âApparently, Miss Corinne has gone missing.â
Lucasâ eyes immediately darkened. âWhat? How is that possible?â
âThere have been more bodyguards than usual outside of the Holdensâ mansion for the past two days,
and we assumed it was because Mister Jeremy wanted to keep Corinne safe. This morning, Miss
Corinne went to Central Park with Miss Pamela, but she somehow went missing. The Holdens have
their entire house staff looking for her now.âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated

Lucas slammed down his coffee cup angrily. âGrr! Corinne shouldnât have married that good-for-nothing
who canât even keep his own wife safe. Edmund, take some men with you to look for her too. Bring her
to me once youâve found her. Under no circumstances should you take her back to the Holdens.â
âYes, Mister Lucas!â
Lucasâ expression remained worried after Edmund left the room. Jason, however, looked relaxed as
though he was watching a movie. He had promised Corinne he would not tell Lucas anything.
âChill, Lucas. Corinne was fine before she met Jeremy, so Iâm pretty sure sheâll be fine now too.â
Lucas gave him a death glare. âItâs easy for you to say since sheâs not your sister!â
Jason raised his eyebrow and sipped his coffee before saying with a smile, âItâs true. Sheâs not my
sister. However, I do like her.â
Lucas scoffed. âI suggest you give up liking her since sheâll never be with you. No, I shouldnât waste my
time talking to you here. I should go look for her myself. What if she falls again? What will happen to
her and the baby?â
After that, he got up and hobbled slowly toward the door.
Jason immediately got up to stop him. âOh, sit down! Youâre in no condition to go look for her. Youâll
only be a burden to Edmund if you go look for Corinne now.â
Lucas wished so badly he could throw away his crutches and run out of the office. âOh, why does she
have to go missing when my foot is injured?â
Jason patted his shoulder. âTrust me. Corinne will be fine.â
It was then Lucas started to suspect something. âWhy are you so sure? Do you know where she is?â
Jason shook his head and smiled. âNope. But from what Edmund said, it sounded like Corinne
purposely went missing to escape from the Holdens. If thatâs the case, she mustâve planned out the
whole thing, so you shouldnât worry so much.â
Lucas frowned. âCorinne planned her escape from the Holdens? Why would she do that? I thought she
and Jeremy were very much in love with each other?â
Jason shrugged. âI have no idea. Iâm only guessing. It could be Corinne wasnât happy at being kept at
home.â
