Chapter 1166
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinneâs lips twitched for a second. She then ate a big mouthful of the crawfish. âAnd yet, you keep
showing your face in front of me even when I ignore you.â
Jason put a freshly-peeled crawfish next to her lips. âThatâs why Iâm working hard to make you not
ignore me.â
Corinne was not used to being fed by another person, so she stabbed the crawfish with her fork before
putting it into her mouth.
Jason did not mind her rejection. âDo you want to know what the Holdens are doing?â he asked with a
smile.
Corinne was a little taken aback by the sudden question and said nothing.
She had been avoiding using her electronic devices or contacting Xante and Aaron the whole day. She
was worried Jeremy would hunt her down using GPS technology. Although she had no idea what was
going on with the Holdens, she could probably guess it.
The Holdens must have mobilized their entire household staff to look for her since she was carrying
their bloodline. They would never allow their kin to be wandering like a hobo outside.
Not wanting to talk about the Holdens, Corinne changed the topic. âYouâre right. The crawfish is
delicious. Where did you buy it from? Can you send me the address later?âBooks Chapters Are Daily

Jason raised his eyebrow. âWhatâs the point of sending you the address? Youâll be going abroad soon
enough, so itâs not like you can buy it anymore.â
âOh, right. I nearly forgot about it,â said Corinne nonchalantly.
âTsk! Donât scare me like that. I thought youâd changed your mind and wanted to go back to Jeremy.â
It was impossible for that to happen since Corinne was the kind that would not change her mind once
she decided.
âEnough about me. Can I interview you, Jason?â
Jason looked at her with great interest. âInterview me? Of course you can. What do you want to ask?â
Corinne looked around the two bedrooms and the living room in the apartment. âYou said you lived
here when you were little, but didnât you come from a rich family? Why would your parents let you live
in such an old apartment?â
Something flashed across Jasonâs eyes when he heard the questions. He did not stop peeling the
crawfish as he answered, âDidnât Jeremy tell you? Iâm not my parentsâ biological son.â
Corinneâs expression changed. âNo, he didnât. Does that mean youâre adopted?â
Jason smiled and explained, âI guess you can call me that. My adoptive parents used to have a son,
but he died when he was little. Due to some unique reason, my adopted father was unable to have
another child, so he decided to adopt a kid from his relatives to be his successor.
âI was the son of a distant relative of his. Both of my parents died, and for that reason, I was chosen to
be his adopted son. Growing up, I was raised to be his successor. This house was where we lived as a
family.â
âThat solves the mystery,â thought Corinne. She could not help but look at Jason with sympathy for the
same plight they found themselves in when they were mere kids.
Though he was lucky to be chosen to be a rich familyâs successor, he must have felt trapped at the
same time since he had no say in anything. Both he and Corinne grew up living under somebody elseâs
roof with no sense of belonging.
âHow old were you when they adopted you?â asked Corinne.
âAround seven or eight years old. I can remember almost everything about my birth parents.â
