Chapter 1184
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne leaned back against the sofa and answered absent-mindedly, âItâs nothing.â
âIs it prenatal depression? Shall I get a doctor to check up on you?â asked Jason worriedly.
Corinne shook her head.
âDonât worry. Iâve always been cautious, so I promise you the Holdens will never find you here. Donât
keep it to yourself if you feel any discomfort,â assured Jason gently.
Corinne looked up at him and said a little sheepishly, âIâm fine. Thank you, Mister Jason, for all youâve
done for me. I really donât want to trouble you with any more stuff.â
Jason pretended to be angry. âYou should drop the âMisterâ in front of my name if you really want to
thank me!â
Corinne knew Jason had feelings for her. Thus, she had been sure to keep her boundaries, whether
through words or actions, so he would not get any wrong idea.
However, this was not the first time Jason expressed his dissatisfaction at being called âMister Jasonâ.
He wanted her to simply call him âJasonâ.
To show her gratitude, Corinne broke her own rule and said, âThanks, Jason.â
Jason grinned happily. âThatâs more like it. Now, would you tell me whatâs bothering you now? Iâm
already in the deep with you, so I might as well help you till the end. I know you donât want to owe me,
but you sort of already do.â
It was true Corinne did not want to trouble Jason, but another reason she was reluctant to tell him was
because she did not think he could help her in that matter. However, she had gotten to know him better
in the past six months, so she did not quite mind sharing her problem with him.Books Chapters Are

Thus, she said, âIâm being required to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the new building of Holden
Group, which I obviously canât go.â
Jason was shocked. âHolden Group invited you to the ribbon-cutting ceremony? Does that mean
Jeremy knows youâre here?â
Corinne shook her head. âNot me, exactly. Itâs another one of my identities.â
âAnd whatâs your other identity?â asked Jason puzzledly.
âThereâs a custom in the construction industry that says the architect must attend the ribbon-cutting
ceremony, and if they donât, itâs as good as cursing the other party. Soâ¦â
Jason had heard of the custom too so he was not surprised, but what surprised him was that Corinne
was Moon all along!
âSo youâre the famous architect Moon?â
Corinne sighed. âYeah, but I donât usually take on cases myself anymore. Itâs just that this time, Holden
Group offered me a lot. Like, a lot.â
Instead of being worried about the problem, Jason was pleasantly surprised. âYouâre one hell of a
woman, Corinne! Just how many more surprises are you keeping from us?â
Moon was an internationally renowned architect, and she received many international awards for her
designs. However, she never participated in any of the events, so only a handful of people knew what
she looked like.
That was why Jason was happy that Corinne would let him in on this little secret.
Corinne glanced listlessly at him. âDo I look like Iâm in the mood to talk about other surprises?â
Jason cleared his throat and got back to the topic at hand. âCorinne, since no one knows what Moon
looks like, you can just get an impersonator to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony.â
Corinne rubbed her forehead. âJeremy and Moon met once before. Even though I had my mask on at
that time, he had a certain impression of me. It would be difficult to get someone to impersonate me.
âIf he deliberately asks some tricky questions about the source of inspiration and design concept of
building, the person pretending to be me will easily be exposed. Then, Newmoon Group will have to
kiss the hundred fifty million dollars goodbye. Things will be even more troublesome if that happens!â
