Chapter 1190
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Xanteâs eyes darkened, but she then smirked. âSo what if she did?â
Sophia, with her chin resting in her hand, fluttered her eyelashes at Xante. âWhat did she complain
about? Letâs see if what she said is true. My guess is that Iâll probably agree with her about most
things.â
Xante scoffed. âMiss Sophia, I really donât think weâre close enough to have this kind of girl talk.â
Sophia shrugged. She looked disappointed, but she did not ask any more questions.
Surprisingly, Jeremy did. âWhat did she say about me?â
Xante was a little taken aback. She turned toward Jeremy, her gold-rimmed glasses glinting, and
smiled. âWhy should you care what she said about you?â
âJust what the hell did she say about me?â repeated Jeremy impatiently.
Xante chuckled coldly. âShe didnât say anything. I was just joking with Miss Sophia, so just forget about
it.â
Jeremyâs face darkened with anger.
Xante continued eating her steak to avoid looking at Jeremyâs gaze.
Sunny could feel the tension in the air and Jeremyâs displeasure at Xante. Even so, he wanted to
protect his girlfriend, so he tried to change the topic.
âAhem! Jeremy, is there still no news about Corinne?â
âNo,â uttered Jeremy coldly. He was so frustrated that he felt like a huge rock was pressing on his
chest.
Sunny, too, wanted to know where Corinne was. He knew Lucas was looking for her everywhere as
well. From time to time, Lucas would ask Edmund whether there was any news of her, but the reply
was always negative.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
âDonât worry, Jeremy. Corinne probably just needs some time for herself. Iâm sure sheâll come back
soon enough.â
Jeremy stood up. âExcuse me. I need to go to the restroom.â
Sunny stood up as well. âI need to go too. Letâs go together.â
Jeremy glanced at him and said nothing. Thus, the two of them made their way to the restroom.
After the two men left, Sophia became even more brazen in her questioning. âMiss Xante, if I guessed
correctly, Miss Corinne mustâve left after she found out Jeremy had gotten legally married to me, right?â
Xante, who planned to ignore Sophia for the rest of the meal, was shocked when she heard that. She
looked at her with widened eyes.
Sophia smiled breezily. âIf that is her reason, then itâs a pity she left.â
Corinne raised an eyebrow. The more she spent time with Sophia, the more she found her difficult to
understand. âYou sound like you really want her to come back. Do you not at all mind that sheâs your
husbandâs mistress?â
Sophia laughed heartily. âWhy should I mind? Itâs not like doing so would change anything. All men are
the same. Theyâll get bored of their own wives and start looking for a side chick. Besides, Jeremyâs not
only handsome but rich and powerful as well. Do you know just how many women are willing to throw
themselves at him? If I spend every minute of my day caring about them, Iâd be exhausted to death
already. Thatâs not how I want to live my life! Itâs no fun revolving your life around a guy, you know.â
âWell, youâre open-minded if not anything else.â
Sophia smiled. âI have to be. I donât care what woman he shacks up with outside as long as he knows
to come home eventually. By the way, can you pass a message to Miss Corinne if you happen to see
her? Tell her that I want to get to know her, and I donât mind sharing Jeremy with her. Iâm sure she and I
will be great friends!â
Xante frowned. She had to admit that she never met a woman like Sophia before.
