Chapter 1199
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Sophia shook her head. âYou can just order for me. You know what I like to eat, anyway!â
Jeremy did not ask her again. He handed the menu to the waiter and helped Sophia order the usual.
Corinne smirked sarcastically when she saw Jeremy ordering food for his legal wife so habitually. She
lowered his head and took a big gulp of the complimentary lemon water on the table.
âWould you like anything else? Donât be shy. Just order whatever you want!â Sophia smiled politely.
The way she spoke was very natural. It was almost as if Jeremy was Sophiaâs husband!
Then again, âas ifâ was probably not the best word to use. Sophia was Jeremyâs legal wife.
Corinne tried her best to force a smile. âNo thanks. Iâm already fat enough. Iâm supposed to be eating
less to control my weight.â
Sophia reassured her. âDonât call yourself fat! Girls are cuter when theyâre a little meatier. You donât
think sheâs fat, do you, Jeremy?â
Jeremy glanced at Moon silently. He did not want to comment at all.
Corinne knew he did not like lying. The way he looked at her was a clear enough sign that she was fat
and ugly in his eyes. Corinne, however, could not care less what he thought; she had nothing to do with
him.
âWhat was it you wanted to ask about the building? Itâs already complete though, so I canât make any
changes even if there are certain aspects which you are unhappy about.âBooks Chapters Are Daily

Jeremy said, âIâm very satisfied with it, and I donât see a need to make any changes. Iâm curious to
know where your inspiration came from, though. Could you tell me something about it?â
Corinne felt a twinge of sadness when he asked that. She lowered her eyes and thought for a moment.
âLove, I guess.â
It might sound like a pompous statement, but it was the truth.
When she made the design, all Corinne thought of was Jeremy. She wanted to ensure that his
workplace was safer than anywhere else; that he had the best view of the city; that the environment
was comfortable and convenient; and that the design lived up to his identity and suited his tastes.
She had fallen in love with Jeremy back then, and she designed the building for him out of love.
Sophia blinked. âWow! Thatâs so romantic! Do you have a lover?â
Corinne pursed her lips slightly. âI used to.â
As soon as Sophia heard that, she knew that the story did not have a happy ending. She was very
considerate and did not ask any further questions about it.
Jeremy narrowed his eyes. âSo, you designed the building with love as an inspiration?â
âI did.â Corinne nodded. âDoes that make you unhappy?â
Jeremy kept quiet for a while and shook his head slightly. âNot at all. Could you share your philosophy
in more detail if you donât mind?â
âSure.â Corinne was very talkative when talking about her specialization. She explained to him the
entirety of the building, from its exterior to its interior.
Jeremy listened very carefully and took a sip of water from time to time. Meanwhile, he continued to
look at her with a hint of danger in his eyes.
Corinne was a little tired after talking too much. When the food was served, she asked, âMay I eat? Iâm
a little hungry right now, but Iâll continue to explain it to you once Iâm full.â
Jeremy nodded. âGo ahead.â
Corinne picked up her cutlery and took some food for herself. She was really hungry, but she could not
choose her favorite dishes and could only take the ones she orderedâthose were some of her least
favorite foods.
The rest of the food Jeremy ordered coincidentally happened to be her favorite food, but she recalled
Jeremy tended to dislike sweet things. She did not think much about them and thought he ordered
them because Sophia liked them.
