Chapter 1214
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Xante was not in the mood to talk about what-if scenarios with Sunny. âLetâs stop the conversation
here. Wait outside for me. I need to discuss something with Corinne.â
Sunny crossed his arms unhappily. He refused to go outside since he did not see himself as an
outsider when it came to Corinne, so he thought he had to listen in on their conversations too.
Corinne pretended Sunny did not exist. She turned toward Xante, asking, âWhat did Holden Group
say?â
âTheyâll come tomorrow afternoon to go over the details with us.â
Corinne nodded and stood up. âNoted. Sunny can stay here. Iâll go and give you guys some room.
Bye.â
Xante glanced at Sunny and said helplessly, âBoss, you donât have to go. Iâll kick him out now.â
Corinne put up her hand to stop her. âNo, itâs fine. Iâm not leaving because of him. I actually finished
what I came here to do. Plus, Iâm a little tired now, so I want to go home to take a nap. You two stay
and chat, okay?â
âIâll ask the driver to send you back then,â said Xante.
Corinne waved her hand. âNo, itâs okay. I havenât been out in the city for a long time, so I donât mind
walking around the area for a bit before taking a taxi home.â
After that, she opened the door and walked out of the office.
Xante could not help but feel worried. She went out to instruct her secretary to accompany Corinne to
walk around before getting her a taxi home.
Since Corinne was in the final trimester of her pregnancy and it was harder to get around by herself,
she decided to take up on Xanteâs offer to have her secretary accompany her.
However, she did not expect to run into Jeremy downstairs.
He was sitting in his car with his window rolled down mid-way, revealing the top half of his side

Beside the car, Annie stood with her arm looped around Marcus. She was introducing Marcus to
Jeremy. âUncle Jeremy, meet Marcus! Heâs the boyfriend I told you about,â she said.
Jeremy glanced tepidly at Marcus.
Marcus was so nervous that he did not know where to put his hands. âHello, Sir. I promise Iâll take good
care of Annie.â
Jeremy was not a woman, so he was not interested in Marcusâ vows of love. He simply said, âSure. Get
in the car now.â
Marcus remained rooted to his spot out of nervousness.
Annie laughingly nudged him. âMarcus, why are you still standing here? Uncle Jeremy asked us to get
into the car.â
Marcus snapped back to the present and scratched his head awkwardly. âTâ¦Thank you, Sir.â
Annie happened to see Corinne, who was being helped down the stairs by Xanteâs secretary, from the
corner of her eyes when she was pushing Marcus into the car.
She was first stunned, but she then instinctively turned toward Jeremy to see his reaction.
Jeremy obviously saw Corinne too since he was looking at them. However, his expression remained as
impassive as ever.
Annie thought Jeremy would be really happy to see Corinne, so she was a bit puzzled at his cold
attitude. âUncle Jeremy, Corinneâs back!â
âYeah, I saw.â
Annie frowned. âShould I go over there to ask her to join us for lunch?â
âUp to you,â said Jeremy coldly. After that, he rolled up his window.
This confused Annie.
After thinking about it, she ran over to where Corinne was and said, âCorinne, Uncle Jeremy asked you
to join us for lunch.â
