Chapter 1216
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âYeah,â said Corinne simply.
Annie nudged Jeremy with her elbow. âUncle Jeremy, did you hear that? She was alone for the past six
months. Alone!â
She had hoped Jeremy would not misunderstand Corinne so they could sit and have a civil
conversation after so long of not seeing each other.
Jeremy chuckled mockingly. âThatâs what she said.â
Annie did not understand what Jeremy meant. âWhy did he say that? Are they really breaking up soon?â
Corinne was visibly irked by Jeremyâs comment. âDoes he think Iâm lying?â
Annie was only trying to lighten the mood, but her attempt at making conversation just seemed to make
the whole situation even worse. Thus, she decided to be silent.

Meanwhile, back in Xanteâs office.
Xante had asked someone to bring in some snacks for Sunny to keep him occupied she could not sit
still after her secretary told her Corinne had gotten into Jeremyâs car.Books Chapters Are Daily

âWhat?! Where is Jeremy taking her?â she asked in a panicked tone.
The secretary shook her head. âI donât know. I only heard them talking about ending things properly.â
Xante was furious. âHow can you let her get into the car without knowing where heâs taking her? And
why didnât you follow her?â
The secretary dropped her head. âAnnie and Marcus were in the car too, so there was no extra seat for
me to sit. Miss Corinne didnât want me to follow her either.â
Xante quickly took out her phone to call Corinne.
Sunny, who was sitting on the sofa eating his snacks, walked over casually when he saw Xante
panicking. âXante, why are you so worried? So what if Corinne got into Jeremyâs car? Itâs not like she
got into some bad guyâs car.â
Xante glanced at him angrily. âThat Jeremy is as good as a bad guy to her!â
Sunny disagreed. âI wonât comment on how Jeremy treats other people, but heâs really good to
Corinne. Donât worry, heâll never hurt her.â
Xante chuckled coldly. âWell, thatâs where youâre wrong.â
Sunny looked confused. âHow did he hurt her? From what I can tell, Corinne has always been the one
hurting him. I mean, she did leave him twice without saying a word. No man could ever stand that.â
Xante glared at him. âYou should go back to class instead of annoying me further!â
Sunny softened his tone a little as he did not want to be kicked out. âXante, please donât get angry at
me. I have nothing to do with thisâ¦â
âThen just be quiet so you wonât cause me any more trouble!â
Xante walked out of her office and called Corinne, but she did not pick up. Thus, she decided to go
discuss with Aaron about their next steps.
The moment she pushed open his office door, she saw Aaron with his head lying dejectedly on the
table. If she did not know any better, she would have thought he was drunk.
She walked up to him and knocked on his desk. âWake up! Boss is in big trouble!â
