Chapter 1222
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Jeremy scoffed again. âWeâve already ordered for ourselves. You two can order something else if you
want.â
âOh, youâve ordered? Thatâs great,â said Marcus with a sincere smile. âIâll just order a few of Annieâs
favorite dishes, then.â
Annie fell into deep thought, which made her look like she was in a trance while Marcus called over the
waiter to order a few more dishes.
âUncle Jeremy and Corinne stopped talking after Marcus and I came,â thought Annie. Jeremyâs tense
expression was as though someone owed him a lot of money. Meanwhile, Corinne was looking out of
the restaurantâs window absent-mindedly.
âNo, this wonât do! Theyâre going to break up at this rate! A man should be the first to apologize for this
kind of problem to be solved.â
Annie did no doubt Jeremyâs holier-than-thou attitude would push Corinne further away.
Suddenly, a light bulb went off in her mind. âIf I canât persuade Uncle Jeremy, someone else can!â
She quickly texted Francine to tell her Corinne had come back.

Meanwhile, at the Holdensâ mansion.
Francine did not have class in the afternoon. She just took a shower after getting back from school
when she saw Annieâs text, stating Corinne had returned. Annie even sent her a photo, which she had
taken secretly, of Corinne and Jeremy sitting across each other. They were both clearly displeased.
Francine nearly jumped up in excitement.
[Where are you guys now? Where did Jeremy find Corinne?] she texted Annie back.
[Weâre at XXX restaurant. Corinne returned on her own accord and just happened to bump into Uncle
Jeremy.]
[Then is Jeremy going to bring her back later? Iâve gotta tell Grandma this news!]
[I donât think thatâs going to happen. Theyâre talking about ending things. Corinne looks really
depressed, and itâs obvious she doesnât want to talk to Uncle Jeremy.]
Francine frowned. [What? Theyâre going to end things? How? Sheâs carrying my brotherâs baby, and if I
remember correctly, the babyâs due next month, right? They should be waiting happily for their bundle
of joy right now, so why are they fighting?]
Annie sent her a sighing emoji. [Donât ask meâI donât know the answers. Itâs not like I want to see
them breaking up, too. Thatâs why Iâm texting you now. I hope you can bring your grandmother to the
restaurant. Only she can force Uncle Jeremy to apologize to Corinne first.]
Francine immediately jumped to Jeremyâs defense. [Why should he apologize first? He didnât do
anything wrong. Corinne was the one who disappeared without so much as a goodbye! She should
apologize to Jeremy first.]
Annie was speechless. [Francine, you sound like you donât want them back together at all.]
As much as she was angry about the whole thing, Francine wanted Corinne to come home. [Fine.
Send me the location of the restaurant. Iâll bring Grandma over as soon as possible.]
Annie did exactly as she asked.
