Chapter 1223
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Francine quickly changed her clothes and ran off to find Pamela right after Annie sent her the
restaurantâs location.
Meanwhile, Pamela was sewing some clothes for her unborn grandson in her bedroom while praying
Corinne would return. She never stopped worrying or missing her, so she tried to keep her occupied by
sewing babyâs clothes.
Suddenly, Francine barged in. âGrandma!â
Pamela jumped up in fright, causing the needle to prick her hand.
âFrancine, why did you scare me like that?â Pamela glared at her, put down the needle, and used a
tissue to wipe away the blood trickling down her hand.
Seeing this, Francine quickly walked over to her. âGrandma, are you okay?â
Pamela threw away the tissue and lectured her with a frown, âIâm okay, but sooner or later, youâre going
to be the death of me. What happened? Why didnât you knock before you came in?â
Francine felt a little guilty for being the reason Pamela hurt herself. She pouted and said, âSorry,
Grandma. I was in too much of a rush.â
âApology accepted. Now, tell me what put you in so much of a rush?â
âCorinneâs back!â
Pamelaâs eyes immediately lit up. âWhat did you say? Corinneâs back? Where is she right now? Quick!
Bring me to her.â
After that, she started walking out of her room.
Francine quickly went up to stop her. âCalm down, Grandma. I havenât finished speaking. Corinneâs not
back at our home yet. Sheâs having lunch with Jeremy outside.âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join

Pamela was over the moon. âThat means Jeremy knows sheâs back, too! Oh, thank heavens. Though I
do wish they had their lunch at home instead. Iâll ask the kitchen to prepare some of Corinneâs favorite
food for dinner tonight!â
Francine sighed again. âGrandma, things arenât as simple as you think they are. Annie said there
seems to be something going wrong between Jeremy and Corinne âcause theyâre talking about ending
things.â
Pamelaâs smile gradually disappeared. âWhat? Theyâre going to end things?! Why would they want to
end things when the baby is due soon? What the hell is that stupid grandson of mine thinking? He
shouldâve brought her home the moment he found her instead of talking about ending things outside!â
Francine held on to Pamelaâs elbow. âThatâs why Annie asked me to bring you to the restaurant. She
said youâre the only person who can make Jeremy apologize first. I mean, we wouldnât want Corinne to
run away again, do we?â
âYes! I will go! No, I must go! Letâs go, Francine. Bring me to the restaurant now!â asserted Pamela.
Francine found it somewhat amusing to see her usually calm grandmother panicking. âDonât worry,
Grandma. Annie is keeping an eye on them as we speak, so why donât you put on your coat first?
Theyâre not going to leave the restaurant so soon.â
Pamela quickly ordered one of the maids to bring her her coat before putting it on and dragging
Francine out of her bedroom. However, the moment they stepped out of the door, they bumped into
Sophia, who came to visit Pamela with two boxes of pastries in her hands.
âGrandma, where are you going in such a rush?â asked Sophia with a polite smile.
Pamela looked around shiftily. âUm⦠Iâm going out with Francine to do something. What are you doing
here, Sophia?â
Sophia raised the two pastry boxes in her hands. âI managed to get some pastries that went viral some
time ago for you to try.â
