Chapter 1224
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Pamela nodded and smiled. âThank you. Thatâs very thoughtful of you. But why donât you leave the
pastries here first? Iâll have them when I come back. Sorry for not keeping you, but I have to attend to a
family matter. But please do come again another day! Iâll cook lunch for you then.â
Sophia smiled demurely. âItâs okay, Grandma. Thereâs no need to feel bad about it. By the way, are you
going out? Shall I give you a ride?â
âNo, itâs fine. We wonât want to take up any more of your time, so weâll ask the family driver to give us a
ride. After all, thatâs what we pay them to do.â
âOh, donât worry about that. Iâm completely free this afternoon,â said Sophia warmly.
Francine always hated Sophia. It annoyed her that Sophia came every two or three days to spend time
with Pamela and Greg. She was not really worried about Pamela being swept away by her charm since
she was a woman too and knew what Sophia was trying to do.
However, Greg was a different story. He was smitten by Sophiaâs charm. It was obvious he liked Sophia
more than Corinne as he would always praise her for her cheerful and down-to-earth personality.
Francine could not help but feel angry when she recalled that.
âThatâs enough, Sophia! Give up. I know what youâre trying to do, but Jeremy will never like you!âBooks

Sophia shrugged helplessly. âFrancine, youâre getting the wrong idea. I was just trying to be kind by
offering a ride to you and your grandmother. I really have no other ulterior motives,â she said
innocently.
Francine rolled her eyes. âAs if Iâm going to believe that! Let me tell you something: Corinne is already
back, so itâs game over for you. No amount of sucking up to my brother or my grandparents will ever
work out in your favor!â
Sophia was first stunned to hear this, but she then smiled. âReally? Corinneâs back? Where is she?
Grandma, are you going to see her now? Can you please bring me with you? Iâve been dying to meet
her!â
Pamela frowned, upset that Francine could not keep her big mouth shut.
âSophia⦠I know you mean well, but how about you meet her another day? She must be tired since
she just came back. I donât think sheâll have the energy to meet new people, so Iâll introduce her to you
another day.â
âDonât worry, Grandma. I promise I wonât bother her,â insisted Sophia cheerfully. âI think I might be the
reason why Corinne suddenly left Jeremy, so I want to clear up the misunderstanding with her.â
Pamela thought Sophiaâs reasoning sounded logical, so her resolution started to waver. âSheâs right.
Sheâs probably the reason why Corinne ran away from home. Corinne might just get back with Jeremy
after hearing Sophiaâs explanation.â
Francine scoffed. âGrandma, we should just let her come with us. She owes Corinne an explanation,
and hopefully, sheâll give up trying to steal Jeremy once she sees how much better Corinne is than her.â
After thinking it over, Pamela finally nodded. âVery well, then. You can come with us, Sophia.â
Sophia grinned. âOh, thank you so much, Grandma!â
After she passed the two boxes of pastries to the maid, she took out her car keys and helped Pamela
to the car.
âCorinneâs back! I can finally see what kind of person she is!â
Meanwhile, back in the restaurant, the waiter placed the last dish they ordered on the table. He did not
remember who ordered what, so the waiter simply placed the dishes on any empty spot.
