Chapter 1228
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Sophia casually put her lipstick back into her bag. When she looked up, she saw Corinne looking at her
in confusion.
This caused her to laugh. âWhat? You donât believe me?â
Corinne threw the tissue she used to wipe her hand into the trash can. âWhat makes you think Iâd
believe you? After all, no wife would wish for her husband to be reunited with his mistress, no?â
Sophia shrugged nonchalantly, but she suddenly nodded. âTo be honest, I do mind a little. But I like to
think in the long term. Youâll forever be the one that got away for Jeremy if you never turned up. Heâd
forever miss you and think of the what-ifs no matter how much I try to make him forget you.
âHowever, if you guys get back together, reality would do the work for me. Youâll start getting sick of
each other, then Jeremy will stop loving you and come back to me so we can live happily ever after. By
the way, we have a saying in our country. âThe supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without
fighting.ââ
âOh, I get what youâre thinking now.â Corinne was actually quite impressed by Sophiaâs intelligence.
She was evidently more manipulative and more transparent than Anya.
Sophia smiled. âItâs not wrong for me to think that way, right? I donât care how many women Jeremyâs
been with. All I can care about is which woman gets to grow old with him, and I have a feeling itâs going
to be me. So you see, Miss Corinne, youâre nothing but one of the many women whoâs just passing
through his life.â
Corinne smiled, too. âYouâre right. Youâre probably the only woman whoâs willing to grow old with him.
Even if itâs not you, it wonât be me because I have no interest in that old fart whatsoever.âBooks

Sophia blocked Corinne from leaving. âBut youâre carrying his kid inside of your belly!â She then
touched her belly without asking for permission.
Corinne immediately stepped back with alarm. âThis baby belongs to me alone. He has nothing to do
with the baby at all!â
Sophia smiled kindly. âDonât get me wrong, Miss Corinne. I have no other intention. I like kids, so I canât
wait for the baby to be born.â
Corinne was starting to think Sophia was demented. However, after thinking it over seriously, she
thought Sophia might just be another victim of Jeremyâs. She probably did not know Jeremy was
playing with her, which was why she agreed to marry him.
With that thought in mind, Corinne stated her position sternly. âMy baby will come safely into this world,
and I alone will take care of him. I wonât let anyone who doesnât have anything to do with me or him get
close to him.â
Sophia, however, retorted, âNo, that wonât do! The baby belongs to Jeremy, so itâs best to raise him with
the Holdens. As a matter of fact, Iâm confident I can be a good stepmother to the baby. Iâll do whatever I
can to bring the baby up to be an exceptional human being.â
Corinne had never met a woman as delusional as Sophia before. She did not want to waste her breath
talking to her, so she stepped around her to get out of the restroom as fast as possible. However, she
must have walked too fast as she accidentally bumped into someone.
âYouâre such a klutz!â
Corinneâs heart tightened when she heard the familiar voice. She looked up and saw Jeremy looking
down at her with disgust.
She instinctively took a step back and apologized, âSorry, I didnât see you just now.â
Jeremy scoffed coldly and lifted her chin roughly. âWhat were you thinking about that you didnât even
bother to look where youâre going?â
Corinne did not like him touching her, so she smacked his hand away. âNothing! Please behave
yourself, Mister Jeremy. Keep your hands to yourself while speaking to me!â
