Chapter 1268
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âFine. You can stay in your room instead of annoying me here if you donât want to go back to work,â
said Corinne.
Aaron revealed a vulnerable side of him that he would only show to Corinne. âBoss, I actually need
your help with something.â
Corinne looked sideways at him. âI knew this was coming.â
âWhat?â she asked gruffly.
âCan you tell Annie Iâm so sad that sheâs ignoring me and choosing her boyfriend over me?â said Aaron
cheekily.
Corinne was already annoyed by what happened, so she did not hesitate to push him away. âNo! Not
happening! Did you care about what she was feeling when you asked her to buy you some condoms
that one time?â
Aaron also knew he was guilty of that, but he still tried to defend himself. âThatâs âcause I didnât like her
then! Plusâ¦it was you who asked me to make her give up on me.â
Corinne glared at him. âSo this is all my fault? I only ask you to stay away from her. I didnât ask you to
do something so hurtful!â
Aaron waved his hand. âNo, no, itâs not your fault. In fact, itâs all my fault, and I really regret it! If it helps,
I didnât use the condoms she bought. Can you please help me? This is about my lifetime happinessâ¦
Do you have the heart to watch me die alone?â
Corinne scoffed. âSorry, but I donât want to help you men anymore. You only want Annie because sheâs
with someone else now. Let me ask you something: Would you still stay with her once the novelty
wears off?â
âOf course I will!â answered Aaron unwaveringly. âIâm so sick of playing around with other girls that I
donât even want to look at them anymore. Please, Boss! Please help me get Annie back. Pretty
please?â
Corinne had never seen Aaron acting so stubborn about a woman before, so she thought he must be
serious this time.
âWell⦠Let me think about it,â she said finally.
Aaron broke out in a happy grin. He knew that was as good as her agreeing to help him, so he hugged
her and rubbed his face onto her shoulder.
âYouâre the best, Boss!â
Corinne simply rolled her eyes.
âAhem!â
Someone suddenly cleared his throat, interrupting Corinne and Aaronâs conversation.
Aaron immediately straightened up himself and looked toward the door. Tommy stood still with a
serious expression and looked at them judgmentally.
âWhat are you clearing your throat for?â sneered Aaron with a raised eyebrow.
âMister Aaron, please behave yourself and keep an appropriate distance from Miss Corinne,â replied
Tommy.
Aaron had already let go of Corinne by then, but he hugged her again after Tommy said that. âWhat
does my hugging Corinne have anything to do with Mister Jeremy? He can come beat me up if he
doesnât like it!â
Tommy gritted his teeth and clenched his fists. He would have beaten up Aaron if Corinne were not
there.
âMister Aaron, even if this has nothing to do with Mister Jeremy, you should know itâs dangerous to hug
Miss Corinne so tightly when sheâs eight months pregnant. For the sake of her health, please let her
go.â
Aaron found what he said reasonable so he let Corinne go. He then stood up and said, âBoss, donât
forget what youâve promised me. Iâll leave you to get some rest then.â
Corinne placed her palm on her forehead. âWhen did I ever promise to help me? I only said Iâd think
about it⦠Ugh. I should really teach this punk a lesson sometime.â
Aaron chased Tommy from the doorway too as he walked out of the room. âShoo! You need to keep an
appropriate distance from Corinne too, so stop looking into her room.â
Tommy was speechless. Not being able to offer up a retort, he quickly went back to his post at the main
entrance.
â¦
When Annie came, Tommy was the one who opened the door for her.
âTommy! What are you doing here?â she asked with surprise. âOh, I know! Uncle Jeremy must be
missing Corinne so much that he came to visit her, right? Where is he right now? I bought some
chocolates for Corinne so he can share them with her.â
Tommy shook his head. âMister Jeremy isnât here, Miss Annie.â
