Chapter 1271
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Tommy thought it was Annie who came since she would often drop by from time to time. Thus, he was
surprised when he opened the door and saw Sophia instead.
Sophia, however, was not surprised at seeing Tommy there. She knew Jeremy had arranged for him to
be there.
âTommy. Iâve come to visit Corinne. Is she in?â
Tommy looked at her in surprise and with slight wariness. He was afraid that something bad would
happen again if they let the two women meet. After all, they did not start on the right foot during their
first meeting.
âYes, sheâs in. But may I know whatâs the purpose of your visit?â
âI came to see how sheâs doing andâ¦to invite her to my birthday party,â said Sophia honestly.
Aaron looked like he was in a dilemma. âWell⦠Uhâ¦â
Knowing what Tommy was worrying about, Sophia flashed a smile at him and assured him, âDonât
worry, Iâve already told Jeremy Iâm going to invite Corinne, and heâs okay with it.â
âOh, I see. In that case, can you wait in the living room while I let Miss Corinne know youâre here? She
might be resting though, so donât have your hopes up.â
Sophia shook her head. âItâs okay. Donât wake her up if sheâs resting. I can wait here for as long as it
takes. Itâs not like I have anything better to do, anyway.â
Tommy was grateful for Sophiaâs understanding. He quickly went to knock on Corinneâs door.
She was not sleeping but scrolling through her phone to shop for babyâs clothing. The baby was about
to be due soon, and she had many things she needed to prepare.
She got up to open the door when she heard the knock on the door.
âMiss Corinne, Miss Sophia has come to visit you,â said Tommy respectfully.
Corinne yawned. âTell her Iâm not home.â
âUh⦠She already knows youâre home and is waiting in the living room for you,â replied Tommy
embarrassedly.
Corinne really did not care. She was about to close the door when Sophia walked over with a smile and
greeted her, âHey, Corinne.â
A look of annoyance flashed through Corinneâs face. âSo rude of her to step out of the living room when
sheâs only a guest.â
âHey, Sophia. Whatâs up?â asked Corinne with a superficial smile.
Sophia stopped in front of her and, within earshot of Tommy, said apologetically, âI want to apologize for
the misunderstanding yesterday and also invite you to my birthday party tomorrow night.â
She took out a beautiful invitation from her bag and handed it to Corinne. âYou can bring your friends,
too! The more the merrier!â
Corinne accepted the invitation and gave it a cursory glance before saying, âMiss Sophia, do you
seriously think I can attend a birthday party with the condition Iâm in?â
Sophia looked at Corinneâs protruding belly. âOf course you can!â she said confidently. âYou can drink
juice instead of alcohol. I heard pregnant mothers can get even more sensitive if they stay at home all
the time, so you should come out more, Corinne. Itâll be good for both your body and mind if you hang
out and talk with some friends.â
Corinne smiled politely and gave her back the invitation. âThank you for thinking of me, but Iâm too lazy
and have no interest in joining pointless social events.â
Sophia quickly grabbed her hand and said âsincerelyâ, âYou must come, Corinne! I donât have any
friends here, so I really, really hope we can be friends. Can you please take some pity on me and just
come?â
Corinne pulled back her hand and shook it as though trying to get some dust off.
