Chapter 1299
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âA nutritionist will prepare lunch for you later, Corinne. Is there anything youâd like to eat for dinner? Iâll
get the ingredients after work.â
Since Corinne chose to stay with them, she might as well treat herself to whatever she wanted. She
thought about it for a moment and said, âIâd like to eat some grilled meat.â
Lucas frowned, apparently unhappy at her request. âYou should go easy on greasy food.â
Rather than protest, Corinne said, âOh. Then Iâll order some food delivery.â
Lucas had no choice but to change his tone. âOkay, Iâll shop for some vegetables and meats after I get
off work. Weâll have some grilled food when I come back.â
Corinne grunted softly and lowered her head to eat some bacon. She took a bite and said in a sullen
tone, âDonât forget to get that painting as soon as possible.â
She wanted to get her hands on the painting as soon as she could so Jeremy would no longer be able
to blackmail her into doing annoying things.
Lucas nodded. âI wonât forget about it.â
A sudden idea then occurred to Sunny. He took advantage of Lucasâ good mood and asked boldly,
âOur school has been turned into an exam venue today, and we donât have any classes to attend. Is it
alright if I donât go to tuition? I want to keep Corinne company today!â
Lucas shot his younger half-brother a displeased look.
Corinne then said, âLet him have some time off. Itâs boring to be alone at home, and Iâd appreciate
having some company.â
âOkay.â Lucas smiled at Corinne, and his expression turned gentle in an instant. He then glanced at his
insolent younger brother and said, âBe good, and donât make Corinne angry.â
Sunny was thrilled when Lucas gave in. He nodded earnestly and said, âDonât worry, Lucas! I promise I
wonât make her angry!â
After Lucas finished eating, he picked up the napkin and wiped his mouth. âI have to go now. Be good,
and call me if you need anything.â
Corinne answered with a soft grunt.
After Lucas left, Sunny immediately stood up and slabbed some peanut butter on a piece of toast. He
handed it to Corinne and said, âHere!â
Corinne cocked an eyebrow and looked at the evenly spread peanut butter toast. She then looked at
Sunny and asked, âWhy are you being so nice?â
Sunny answered proudly, âCanât I be nice to you?â
Corinne chuckled. âYou want something from me, donât you?â
Sunny grinned after she saw through him. âNo, of course not! I just realized how effective your words
are with Lucas! I just need to get on your good side, and Lucas wonât ever beat me up again in the
future!â
âOh, quit the act. Youâre not going anywhere today,â Corinne warned with a grin.
âWhy canât I?â Sunny frowned unhappily.
Corinne took the piece of peanut butter toast and munched on it. âWhy should you? Didnât you just tell
Lucas you want to keep me company at home?â
âYes, and I will! Iâll spend the morning with you, and in the afternoon, Iâll go meetââ
Corinne cut him off without hesitation. âYouâre meeting no one. If you do, Iâll call Lucas and tell him right
away.â
Sunny was upset. âHow can you do that, Corinne? I donât always get a free day to spend time with my
girlfriend!â
Corinne remained unmoved and looked at him as if he was just a child. âGirlfriend? Who permitted you
to be in a relationship at such a young age?â
Sunny had an annoyed expression. âIâm not a child! Iâm an adult! Iâm free to be in a relationship with
anyone!â
Corinne grinned. âDo you know who I am?â
