Chapter 1327
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
After catching her breath in the car, Corinne sat still and said nothing.
Sophia turned to look at her. âCorinne, why arenât you saying anything? Arenât you going to ask me
where weâre going?â
Corinne kept her eyes on the road ahead. âYou told me weâre going to the crime scene to look for
clues, right?â
âArenât you scared, then?â asked Sophia curiously.
âYou can stop the car and get out now if youâre scared,â said Corinne impassively. âGive the car and
address to me, and Iâll go there by myself!â
Sophia was a little taken aback. âIâm not scared. Iâm hoping that Jeremy is still alive and that the dead
body doesnât belong to him. And for this, Iâm not scared of anything!â
âThen stop talking and step on it.â
Sophia was speechless. She glanced at Corinneâs huge belly and thought, âShe seems like she isnât
worried about the baby at all. So this is the length sheâs willing to go to for Jeremy⦠Heh. Despite
saying otherwise, she still cares about him after all.â
Sophia had guessed that Corinne would escape while Lucas was out getting water for Corinne from the
pantry room. That was why Sophia tried to stall him by talking to him. That way, Corinne would have
more time to escape.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Knowing that Corinne was all over the place after she found out about Jeremyâs death, Sophia decided
there was no point in talking to her. Thus, the two women drove on in silence to the abandoned factory
where the explosion happened.
â¦
It was not difficult to imagine just how powerful the explosion must have been when Corinne and
Sophia saw the aftermath.
Corinne got out of the car and, with the moonlight, tried to look for some signs of life through the debris.
She tried to come up with all the possibilities of how Jeremy could still be alive, but seeing the
destruction before her, she knew there was no hope of that happening.
âIf Jeremy was near this area when the explosion happened, he couldnât have survived the explosion,â
lamented Corinne.
âAre you sure Jeremy was here when the explosion happened? Even if his car and ID card were found
here, it doesnât mean he came here,â said Corinne. There were so many details she still did know what
of.
âCorinne, you donât know how much I wished Jeremy wasnât here when the explosion happened either.
But the police had footage of Jeremy in his car when he came out to take a break at a rest stop.â
Corinne frowned. âHas the police found out who did this? I mean, why would Jeremy suddenly come to
this god-forsaken place in the first place?â
Even if it was as Lucas said, that Jeremyâs half-brothers wanted him dead, heâwith his intelligenceâ
would never fall into such a simple trap.
Sophia shook her head. âNo one knows why he came here. The only things the police found were
Jeremyâs ID card and a burnt phone on the dead body that was blown to pieces. Theyâre still looking for
the cause of the explosion. We can only come home at night since the place will be filled with police
officers in the morning.â
Corinne fell silent. âSo thatâs why he hasnât been replying to my messages for the past two daysâ¦â Her
heart ached so much that she started to find it hard to breathe.
âNo, Corinne. Nowâs not the time to wallow in sorrow. I have to find out who did this as soon as possible
and to make them pay! I must avenge Jeremy for the sake of our baby!â
She took a deep breath and carefully walked through the explosion site with the help of her phone
flashlight to look for clues.
