Chapter 1331
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âNo! What the hell is going on? Did something happen to her? Answer me!â demanded Francine.
Lucas did not answer her. After thinking it over, he asked again, âMiss Francine, would you be able to
contact Sophia now?â
Francine knew things were serious if Lucas and Sunny were willing to put aside the bad blood between
the two families to go to her house. Thus, after thinking it over, she said, âSophia has called me before
to look for Jeremy, but I didnât save her number. I need to search through my call history to see if I still
have a record of her number.â
âYes, please do, Miss Francine. That would be a great help to us,â said Lucas.
Francine quickly took out her phone and scrolled through her call history.
âI found it! This is her number. But why are you looking for her?â she asked.
Lucas decided to give her the short story of it. âMiss Francine, Corinne ran away from the hospital this
afternoon. I suspect Sophia took her away. Can you please call her to ask her where Corinne is?â
âWhat? Corinne ran away from the hospital?â Francine started to panic when she heard this. Without
further prompting from Lucas, she quickly called Sophia.
The call went through after a few rings.
âHello? Francine!â cried Sophia tearfully as though she was trying to hold back a sob.
âSophia, where are you right now?â
âIâm at the hotel. Whatâs the matter? Is there a new lead on your brotherâs case?â
âIs he still alive?â was the unspoken question in the air. Francine wished her brother was still alive too,

âNo. Iâm not calling because of that. In fact, I want to ask you whether youâve seen Corinne today
because sheâs missing!â
Sophia pretended to be shocked. âWhat? Sheâs missing? No, I havenât seen her today. What
happened? Why would she suddenly go missing?â
âMister Lucas came to my house saying he suspects you took her away, so he asked me to call you.
Do you really not know where she is? You do know sheâs carrying my brotherâs baby, right? So nothing
can happen to her! You have to tell me if you did see her!â
âBut I havenât seen her, Francine,â said Sophia innocently. âI really havenât! Yes, I did go to the Riverasâ
with the hope of seeing her this afternoon, but they wouldnât let me in. Mister Lucas even ordered the
servants to drag me away.
âAnd when I heard Corinne had been sent to the hospital, I went there with the hope of seeing her so I
could make sure nothing happened to the baby, but Mister Lucas stopped me again. So no, I didnât see
her. As a matter of fact, how can he suspect that I was the one who took Corinne away?
âI donât even know which hospital room she was staying in! If he doesnât believe me, he can go through
the surveillance footage to see whether Iâm telling the truth or not! But more importantly, we should look
for Corinne first!â
Francine did not want to waste her time talking to Sophia anymore, so she just hung up the phone.
Then, she asked Lucas, âWhy was Corinne staying with you in the first place? And how did she end up
in the hospital? Did her water break?â
Lucas shook his head. âNo. She passed out from shock after she heard what happened to Jeremy, so
we took her to the hospital. She and the baby were fine after the doctor tended to them. But then she
snuck out of the hospital while I went out to get her some water.â
âSh*t! This isnât good. Grandma and Grandpa are going to have another breakdown if they find out that
Corinne is missing!â thought Francine.
âThen should we call the cops now? We must find her before something bad happens to her!â said
Annie.
âMiss Francine, can you please give me Sophiaâs phone number? Thereâs something Iâd like to ask
her,â asked Lucas calmly.
