Chapter 1350
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Xante lowered the window to get some fresh air. âIf you want to be in a relationship, I can have fun with
you for a while. If itâs marriage you want, you ought to be with someone else!â
âI want to be with you!â Sunny said stubbornly. Women usually pushed for marriage because they
feared that their boyfriend might change his mind or refuse to take responsibility for her, yet Sunny
could not understand why Xante seemed to be acting more like a man.
Xante said, âMarriage was never part of my plans. You chose the wrong person if you wanted to get
married.â
âAre you an example of someone who doesnât believe in marriage?â Sunny frowned and compromised.
âFine, then. Weâll be in a relationship with each other for the rest of our lives. Donât even think of being
with anyone else!â
Xante looked at Sunnyâs serious expression and said, âDonât be naive!â
âIâm serious, Iââ
Before Sunny could say anything, Xante put out her cigarette and got out of the car. Jeremy was
already helping Corinne out of the police station.
Sunny was frustrated that he could not finish his sentence, but he got out of the car anyway.
Annie was the first to reach Jeremy and Corinne. âUncle Jeremy! Aunt Corinne! Iâm so glad to see that
youâre both okay!â
Aaron walked over and asked Corinne worriedly, âHow are you feeling, boss? Are you done giving your
statement?â
Corinne nodded. âYes. Itâs all done.â
âThank goodness itâs all done.â Aaron smiled in relief. âWill you be going home with us or Mister
Jeremy?â
Corinne was about to answer when Lucas got out of the car and walked over. âShe wants to go home
with me,â he said with conviction.
When he arrived in front of Corinne, his expression became considerably gentler. âAre you tired,
Corinne? Letâs go home and rest.â
Corinne nodded at Lucas and walked toward him.
Jeremy reached out and hugged her gently. He did not permit her to leave his side even by an inch. He
raised his eyes and said to Lucas, âIâll see her off.â
Lucas ignored Jeremy and looked at Corinne to see if that was what she wanted.
Corinne shook off Jeremyâs hand from her shoulders and refused. âYou donât need to trouble yourself.
You wouldâve been tired from trying to catch all the gangsters in the past two days, so you should go
home and have some rest.â
Jeremy sighed. His gentle tone had a hint of coaxing as he said, âIâm not tired. Let me see you off,
okay?â
Corinne answered him firmly, âCome meet me again when you solve that problem of yours. I wonât go
with you until and unless everything is clear-cut.â
She then walked toward Lucas and said, âLetâs go.â
Lucas then helped her into the car.
There was nothing Jeremy could do about it. He knew that he had no right to pester her until he solved
the issue with Sophia. He turned to Lucas and said earnestly, âThank you for taking care of her for me.â
Lucas replied unceremoniously, âItâs my responsibility as a brother to take good care of her. I am more
than happy to do my duty. Our family will no longer be able to tolerate you if you ever make her sad or
put her in any form of danger.â Lucas then turned around and got into his car before driving away.
