Chapter 1354
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Jeremy helped Corinne tighten the coat around her.
âEat it while itâs still hot. Tommy bought a lot, so it should be enough for you all to share.â
Corinne stared into Jeremyâs gentle eyes. âAlright, thanks for the trouble.â
Jeremy frowned. âSheâs acting like weâre strangers! Though, this is definitely better than her ignoring
me.â
Corinne was about to go in when she remembered something.
âBy the way, Mister Jeremy, please accept the money I wired to you for the painting.â
Jeremy frowned. âMust you be so calculative toward me?â
âOf course. Itâs important to keep our affairs separate until we solve our problems.â
Jeremyâs eyes darkened, and his tone was less gentle than before. âGo inside, eat your supper, and go
to sleep after that!â
Corinne pouted and snapped back, âYou should go home too, Mister Jeremy. Have a safe journey
back.â
Jeremy, still salty with Corinneâs behavior, turned and got into his car. Tommy bowed slightly toward
Corinne before following suit.
However, the car remained parked where it was.
Corinne planned to see them off with her eyes before going back inside the mansion, so she frowned
when she saw the car not moving. She then turned and walked back toward the mansion. The servant
who followed her out took the takeout from her.
Jeremy gestured to the driver with his chin to drive away once he was sure Corinne had safely gone
back inside.
After Jeremyâs car drove off, Jasonâwho had been treated like he was invisible the whole timeâ
snapped out of his trance and chased after Corinne.
âCorinne! Wait!â
Corinne did not stop walking. She glanced back and asked impassively, âOh, itâs you, Mister Jason. Did
you just come?â
This made Jason bitter. âHow could she not notice me when I was only a few meters away from her?â
He smiled helplessly after he caught up to her. Matching her step for step, he asked, âWhy arenât you
surprised Iâm here at all?â
âWhy should I be surprised? The circle of the rich isnât that big, so you guys would always inform each
other when something big happened. Itâs not that surprising that youâll come here.â
Corinneâs calmness and intelligence were why Jason liked her.
âSo the Riverasâ mansion was where youâve been staying for the past two days. Why didnât you tell
me?â asked Jason.
âWhy should I tell you? So you can come here when you have nothing better to do? Besides, I didnât
tell you, yet youâre here anyway.â
Jason frowned with frustration. âCorinne, you might not want me to find you, but you should know Iâm
really worried about you! Not to mention, I heard you were kidnapped and were only rescued not long
ago! Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?â
Corinne waved her hand. âLook at me. Iâm fine, arenât I?â
Jason studied her from head to toe. âGood. Iâm glad youâre okay. I got the fright of my life and rushed
over as soon as I could when I got the news.â
âSorry for worrying you again,â said Corinne, somewhat sheepishly. âBut you donât need to worry. Iâm
fine, so you should head back home to rest if thereâs nothing else.â
Jason frowned. âWhy? Am I not welcome here?â
âNo, itâs not because of that. Itâs just that itâll be morning soon. Donât you have to work tomorrow?â
Jason smiled. âBut youâre more important than work.â
Corinne suddenly got goosebumps. She decided to take what Jason said as a joke, so she said
nothing.
