Chapter 1357
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Jason was a little taken aback by Lucasâ answer, and he smiled self-deprecatingly.
âSo as Corinneâs brother, youâre willing to see past the bad blood between the two families and let
Corinne marry Jeremy?â
âI donât want to do anything thatâll make Corinne sad since itâs taken me this long to find her,â said
Lucas seriously. âThat means Iâll give her anything she wants. Iâll still keep an eye on her even if she
marries Jeremy, and Iâll kill him if he dares to make her cry.â
Jason looked at Lucas stunned before pretending to be frightened. âI pity the poor fool who has you as
his brother-in-law.â
âWell, no oneâs stopping you from leaving if youâre scared.â
Jason smiled. âOh, come on, Lucas! Why donât you consider having me as your brother-in-law? I
promise Iâll treat Corinne better than Jeremy treats her.â
âBut she doesnât like you,â said Lucas, going straight for the jugular.
Jasonâs smile froze. A second later, he shrugged. âWhoâs to say she wonât like me in the future?â
Lucas narrowed his eyes. âCorinne and I are the same. If she doesnât like someone at first, sheâll never
like them later.â
Not liking the conversation anymore, Jason waved his hand and said, âYouâre not fun at all. Whatâs
more, Iâve never seen you take an interest in any girl before in all the years Iâve known you! So no,
Corinneâs not as cold as you.â
Lucas was speechless.
Jason put down his coffee cup. âIâm not going to waste my time talking to you anymore when I could be
talking to Corinne.â
As unhappy as Lucas was, he did not stop Jason from leaving. He knew Corinneâs heart was not that
easy to be won over.
Corinne was eating a barbecued skewer when Jason walked over and sat next to her. He smiled at her
and said, âYou sure are enjoying your food, Corinne. May I try some of the ones youâre eating?â
Corinne glanced at Jason. âJust eat whatever you want.â
Corinne referred to the plenty more food on the table, so she was speechless when Jason grabbed her
half-eaten food from her hand and ate it. She did not expect him to do that, so she was not quick
enough to object.
âOh well, no point asking for the food back now that heâs eaten it,â thought Corinne as she picked up her
glass of water.
Jason took a bit of the food and said with a smile, âMm, this is delicious! You know, Corinne, I can buy
food like this for you whenever you want.â
Corinne sipped her water and said, âNo, thanks. I can buy it myself.â
Jason smiled. âI meant I could buy it for you if you donât have time to spare.â
âItâs okay. I can ask for delivery.â
âWonât you at least give me a chance?â asked Jason helplessly.
Corinne glanced at him. âWhat chance are you talking about?â
âThe chance to be your boyfriend in the future,â replied Jason boldly.
Corinne laughed. âGive it up! Thatâs never going to happen.â
Jason sighed with mock frustration. âCorinne, are you seriously going to forgive Jeremy? You do know
we men never change, right? You shouldnât go back to him.â
Both Aaron and Xante, who sat on the other side, knew what Jason was trying to do. However, they
decided not to intervene since they knew Corinne was capable of handling this.
