Chapter 1476
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1476
Jeremy only looked away from Corinne after she went back inside her private booth. He looked down
at the boy who looked exactly like his son, and when he saw the fear in the boyâs face, he thought, âHe
seems like heâs really scared of being found by that woman.â
He put his hand on Bryanâs head and said, âCome now. Letâs go inside.â
Bryan snapped out of his trance and went inside the private booth with Jeremy.
Sophia could not help but worry that Jeremy had seen Corinne since it was not that long ago that
Corinne left.
âZachary, what took you and Benjamin so long?*â she asked with an unnatural smile on her face.
In contrast to her, Jeremyâs expression remained impassive.
âBenjamin was experiencing some minor diarrhea, so I waited for him to be done. By the way, who was
that?â he asked naturally as though they were just having a casual conversation.
Beats me. She was just some random woman who thought this was her private booth,â replied Sophia
as naturally as she could while staring at Jeremyâs reaction. 1
âSo he did see Corinne after all⦠But judging from his reaction, he doesnât seem like he remembers
who she is,â she thought. 1
âI see,â came Jeremyâs simple reply. It was as if he was not curious about anything at all.
Still worried, Sophia probed him by asking, âAre you asking because you think sheâs pretty? Did she
see you too?â
âNo. I only saw her back as she walked out of here, to be honest. Is she pretty? How pretty?â replied
Jeremy disinterestedly.
Sophia felt better after she saw no signs of Jeremy having recognized Corinne.
âCorinne mustâve taken the other way round, so she didnât see Jeremy after all. If not, knowing her, she
wouldâve stopped him to ask him whether he was Jeremy,â she thought.
The more she thought about it, the more she shuddered at how close her lies could have been
exposed.
âI need to settle all my business affairs as quickly as possible to prevent the same thing from happening
again,â she told herself. âI canât let Corinne see Jeremy⦠But what am I going to do when the auction
finishes and she insists on talking about the bid with the person in charge?â
Sophia decided to promptly leave. Smiling, she said, âZachary, since Dad is happy with the price the
piece of land sold for, thereâs nothing else for US to do here anymore. Letâs head back.â
Jeremy simply nodded expressionlessly at her suggestion.
Sophia walked over and picked up the boy standing beside Jeremy. âLetâs go, Benjamin. Weâre going
back to the hotel now.â
To her surprise, âBenjaminâ pushed her away. He did not like her one bit, so he did not want to be
carried by her. âI donât want you to carry me! I can walk by myself!â
âWhatâs the matter with this kid? When did he become so temperamental?â thought Sophia with a
frown. âOne second, heâs running out to apologize to me, and the next he wonât let me touch him? Ugh,
forget it. Nowâs not the time to think about all this. We need to leave before Corinne sees us!â
âOkay, Benjamin. You can walk by yourself. Mommy will wheel Daddy out, then.â
Sophia walked over to Jeremy and wheeled him out of the room.
Jeremyâs expression remained impassive. As always, he let Sophia wheel him out without saying
anything.
âYouâre not my Mommy,â muttered Bryan under his breath.
