Chapter 1492
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1492
âUhh⦠Because Xanteâs with me now?â Sunny replied.
Corinne had a rough idea of what was going on. âPass her the phone!â
Sunny stayed silent for a moment. âIâm sorry, but sheâs busy right now. Iâll visit you and the children at
the Holdens tomorrow. Can we talk then?â
Corinne pursed her lips when he ended the call. âThat little brat!â
âMommyâ¦â Joeyâs voice suddenly came from behind her.
Corinne put her phone away and turned, only to see Joey coming in with a worried look. âWhatâs
wrong, Joey?â
Joey frowned and said, âMommy, Bryan and Christine are fighting! I couldnât stop them, but Aunt
Francine was teaching them a lesson right now. Please break up their fight, Mommyâ¦â
Bryan and Christine are fighting?â Corinne found that highly unusual. Bryan and Christine were twins
who never fought before, so what gives?â
âWhere are they now?â Corinne inquired.
Joey took his motherâs hand and replied, âIn Aunt Francineâs room. Sheâs scolding them right now!
Hurry up, Mommy! They might cry if Aunt
Francine keeps scolding themâ¦â
With Joey leading the way, Corinne followed him to Francineâs room with a sense of perplexity.
Inside Francineâs room, Bryan and Christine stood with arms crossed. They looked grumpy and refused
to acknowledge each otherâs presence.
Meanwhile, Francine placed her hands on her hips while lecturing them.â How could you hit each other
so hard when youâre both siblings? I wonât tell your mother if you make up with each other now.â
âBryanâ and Christine let out a âhmphâ at the same time.
Francine huffed and said, âAnd whatâs that supposed to mean? Itâs unbecoming of you two to hurt your
sibling! Youâre both going to get it handed to you! Iâm going to tell your mother and have her teach you
a good lesson!â
The two kids became scared as soon as they heard that Francine was going to tell on them. They
reached out at almost the same time to grab Francineâs clothes. âAunt Francine, please donât tell
Mommyâ¦â they said in unison.
Francine took that as a positive sign. After all, they would run amok if they had no one to fear!
âToo late,â Corinneâs voice resounded through the room all of a sudden.
âBryanâ and Christine simultaneously froze and turned to look at Corinne.â When did Mommy arrive?â
As soon as Francine saw her sister-in-lawâs stern expression, she knew something was amiss and
rushed to the defense of her nephew and niece.â Donât get angry, Corinne! Iâve given them a stern
telling off on your behalf.â
She then nodded subtly to the kids to get them to show some remorse.â Youâve learned your lesson,
havenât you?â
After receiving that hint from Francine, they pretended to admit their wrongs even though they were still
angry at each other.
âBryanâ and Christine both said, âWeâre sorry, Mommy!â
Corinne narrowed her eyes as she examined them. What she thought was a minor squabble between
siblings had resulted in a rather serious altercation. There were visible signs of a physical altercation-
Bryan had three scratches on his face, while Christineâs left eye was swollen.
âYou two, come with me,â said Corinne.
Though her words did not seem to show any emotion, both children shuddered in response.
