Chapter 1525
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1525
David was a little taken aback. He turned to look at Annie questioningly.
âWell, this is certainly different from what Annie told me,â he thought. He did not usually accept children
for counseling.
Annie knew why Corinne brought âBryanâ, so she shrugged and spread out her hand helplessly. âWhatâs
the matter? A childâs psychological problem definitely has something to do with his parents, right? Why
canât Corinne and Bryan do the counseling together? Doctor David, youâre a professional, so Iâm sure
this wonât be a challenge for you at all.â
David raised an eyebrow and pursed his lips. âOf course they can.â
He turned back to look at âBryanâ with his analytical eyes. âAnnie, why donât you take Bryan to the
dining room to drink his soda first? Iâd like to speak alone with Miss Corinne about his condition.â
Annie gladly did as he asked. She got up and took âBryanâsâ hand, but the little boy did not want to go
with her at all. It took some coaxing from Corinne before he finally agreed to go with Annie to the dining
room.
David made sure âBryanâ was out of earshot before asking Corinne, âMiss Corinne, what problem do
you think your son is having that made you want to bring him here for counseling?â
Corinne narrowed her eyes and told him everything, starting from the day they went for a picnic.
âLast weekend, my sister-in-law and I took Bryan and his siblings out for a picnic. Halfway through the
picnic, Bryan ran off by himself after seeing a kite he liked. I went looking for him the second I realized
he was missing, and when I found him, I gave him a real scolding. I know I shouldnât have done that,
but I was a nervous wreck.
âAfter that, he turned from a happy-go-lucky kid to one that is quiet and timid. He even looked scared
and anxious when he was at home. Iâm worried that Iâve traumatized him that day with my scolding.â
After she finished speaking, David rubbed his chin thoughtfully. âHmm⦠Generally speaking, kids donât
really get traumatized by a parent scolding them, so Iâm afraid it might be another reason. Miss
Corinne, would it be okay if I speak to Bryan alone?â
Since they were already there, Corinne had hoped they could finally get an answer to why the boy had
a change of behavior.
Corinne nodded. âOf course. But I hope it wonât take too long because heâs been very sensitive lately.â
David smiled. âDonât worry. Iâm a professional.â
He then got up and walked gracefully toward the dining room to speak to 1 Bryanâ.
Annie was asked to leave, so she slipped out of the dining room and sat next to Corinne. âCorinne,
what do you think of Doctor David?â she asked.
It was still too early for Corinne to form an opinion about David. She kept her gaze fixed on âBryanâ to
make sure he was okay.
At first, âBryanâ looked guardedly at David. However, the man said something to him, and the boy
gradually relaxed and talked to him.
âLook, Corinne! They look like theyâre getting along. You should talk to Doctor David, too. Heâs the real
deal,â said Annie.
Corinne raised an eyebrow and glanced sideways at her. âMe? Why do I need to talk to him?â
Annie blinked at her innocently. âSo that youâll feel better. You can treat him as an emotional dumpster.
You can tell him all the sad thoughts that
youâve been keeping to yourself. Thatâs what I do when I come here, and I always feel so much better
after venting everything out. So what do you say, Corinne? Do you want to give it a try as well?â
Corinneâs lips twitched. â1 donât have any sad thoughts I need to vent out.â
Annie pouted. âI donât believe you! Corinne, you canât keep all the emotions you have about Uncle
Jeremyâs disappearance to yourself. Youâre going to explode if you do! Just talk to Doctor David, okay?
I guarantee youâll feel better after a counseling session with him.â
Corinne chuckled. â1â11 only feel better if I can vent out my sadness and anger at the person who
caused it. It doesnât work if itâs other people. Is this why you kept on insisting that I meet this therapist
friend of yours?â
