Chapter 182
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 182
Corinne wiped her hands slowly after taking tissue from the tissue box on the table. âWhy shouldnât I hit
you when the two of you have been up to no good?â
Had it not been for their underhanded means, she would not have lost her virginity the night before!
When Lillianna saw that Corinne was acting uncharacteristically odd, she gritted her teeth with hatred
and said, âI knew you were just pretending to be a good girl in front of your father! Youâre showing your
true colors now that heâs not around!â
Corinne smiled faintly. âI could say the same for you, Aunt Lilliana. Your gentleness and obedience in
front of my dad were all just a farce too, wasnât it? Do you need me to spell out what sort of horrendous
behavior you did behind his back?â
Lilliana felt choked by that, and she gritted her teeth before scolding angrily, âDonât you dare compare
yourself to me. Youâre just a b*stard child!â
Sherlyn sided with her mother and scolded, âMy mom is right, Corinne! Youâre a motherless b* stard
child! Iâm going to teach you a lesson on behalf of your shameless mother!â As she cursed, she
charged forward and raised her hand to slap Corinne.
Rather than dodging, Corinne grabbed Sherlynâs wrist firmly and asked, âI donât need you to teach me a
lesson! Why donât you look in the mirror and ask yourself how you managed to secure the contract with
Holden Groupâs entertainment agency? I dare you to say it out loud.â
Sherlyn was taken aback for a moment, and she was unable to withdraw her hand despite her best
attempts to do so. She raised her chin arrogantly and said angrily, âItâs because Iâm talented, and the
higher-ups just had to sign me after I captured their eye!â
Corinne flung off Sherlynâs hand and said with a half-smile, âI think itâs because your godfather is the
better person, right? By the way, does Dad know that youâve acknowledged that man as your
godfather?â
Sherlyn stood firm, stared at Corinne, and snorted in disdain. âIs it wrong for me to have at godfather? I
did it all for the sake of getting a better job and bringing honor to our family! And besides, my godfather
and I have a pure father-daughter relationship. It doesnât scare me if Dad finds out!â
Sherlyn had never been afraid of that at all. If she were, she would not have shown off to Corinne that
the godfather in question was a great director and would have kept that a secret.
Corinne nodded. âSure, I believe that your relationship with him is purely father and daughter, but I
doubt that his relationship with Aunt Lilliana is just as pure!â
Sherlyn suddenly felt guilty, because she did not expect Corinne to know that much. She then quickly
turned her head and looked at her mother Lilliana, who was rather calm as she said, âWhat do you
mean by that, Corinne? Sherlyn has been appreciated by all her seniors at work, and itâs normal for her
to be recognized as a goddaughter by them! What does this have anything to do with me?â
2/2
Corinne looked at Lilliana and raised an eyebrow. âAs far as I know, Goran had a first love before he
became famous, and the two of them lived together for several years. That so-called first love
happened to be named Lilliana Reece, too! Donât you think itâs too big of a coincidence that his first
love shares the same name as you?â
Lillianaâs expression fluctuated dramatically. âHow did you know that?â
Corinne then added, âYouâre a charming woman, Aunt Lilliana, and there has to be a reason your old
lover is willing to help your daughter even though youâve broken up with him so many years ago. He
even acknowledges Sherlyn as his goddaughter now! Could it be⦠that Sherlyn is Goranâs daughter?â
Lilliana pointed angrily at Corinne and said, âStop making false accusations, Corinne! What do you
know? What evidence do you have for saying that?â
Corinne spread her palms. âI donât have any.â
Lilliana knew that a country girl like Corinne could never find any evidence, so she had a relaxed
expression and folded her arms confidently. âIâd watch your words if I were you. If you keep making wild
accusations without showing any evidence, Iâll sue you for defamation!â
Corinne sighed. âIâll just tell Dad and let him find the evidence.â
