Chapter 306
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 306
Inside the police stationâs dark and cramped interrogation room, two sternâlooking police officers sat
across from
Corinne. One of them asked sharply, âAre you going to confess or not?â
Corinne sat demurely behind the small table, but her words remained very firm. âWhatâs there to
confess when Iâm not guilty of anything?â
The sternâfaced officer frowned unhappily when he saw her being so obstinate, so he said to her,
âArenât you aware that thereâs room for more leniency if you cooperate? Iâve been a police officer for
many years, and Iâve seen many suspects who are just as stubborn as you are. But no matter how
stubborn they are, they all regret it once the sentence is handed to them! A young girl like you shouldnât
have engaged in such reprehensible behavior, and itâs even more appalling that you donât have a single
ounce of regret for doing something illegal and harming other people. Your parents would disown you if
they found out what you did!â
Corinne said, âHave you ever heard the saying that those who are determined to condemn a person
will always be able to find an excuse to do so? In all my years alive, Iâve seen few police officers who
are as rash as you! You hardly give the impression of being someone who graduated from the police
academy. Do you always handle a case so sloppily? Your
superiors would deduct your wages if they find out that this is how you handle cases!â
The policemanâs face turned red, and he was stunned

speechless. âYou! YâYâYâ¦YâYouâ¦â
The other police officer coughed heavily and said, âThis is an interrogation room, Corinne. Itâs one of
the most serious places youâll ever find yourself in. Youâre not supposed to be making snide remarks
here!â
Corinne nodded. âSure. Then I have the right to remain silent. If you have any questions, you can direct
them to my lawyer. Heâll be here soon.â
Another police officer was also annoyed by her recalcitrant attitude. âSigh, Corinneâ¦â
All of a sudden, someone knocked on the door of the
interrogation room, and another police officer came in to call one of the officers in charge of the
interrogation. After a while, the officer came back again, spoke to his colleague, and explained a new
situation in the case. His colleague. immediately had a frustrated expression after hearing that.
âWhy are there new witnesses all of a sudden?â
âMy thoughts exactly. Why would such a simple case have so many witnesses?â
âMister Lucas and his sister are still waiting for the results of Corinneâs interrogation! I thought we could
solve it quickly by today, but this new situation throws a spanner in the works!â
âWell, letâs just bring her there for now!â
One of them then turned to Corinne and said, âYour lawyerâs here. Weâre bringing you to see him now.â
The officer then came over and unlocked the handcuffs that were cuffing her to the small table in the
interrogation room.

She got up obediently, followed the two police officers out, and went to a much larger room where
outsiders could visit detained suspects. In addition to her lawyer Gabriel, there were also Lucas, Sunny,
Anya, and Rosie in the room. They were all waiting to see the outcome of her final interrogation.
Corinne glanced at everyone and subconsciously looked around.
No one else was in that room except for those five people.
She frowned and then chastised herself, âWho am I kidding? He doesnât care about me anymore. But
itâs not like I need him to show concern for me anyway. I just think itâs ironic.â
Lucas sat in a relaxed manner on a chair inside the visiting room. He had a dignified look, and there
was a hint of coldness as he looked at Corinne entering the room in handcuffs. He then turned to
Corinneâs lawyer, Gabriel, and asked with a smile, âMister Gabriel, everyone in this city holds you in
high prestige, yet youâre helping to exonerate a villain who hired someone to commit crimes. Arenât you
concerned that this might affect the reputation youâve built over the years?â
