Chapter 398
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 398
Jeremy looked up at the people upstairs and nodded slightly before putting his arm over Corinneâs
shoulders to bring her upstairs.
Corinne did not budge, and she shook her head while saying, â Iâm going to wait here for the wings. I
donât feel like going up there to socialize with you!â
Jeremy did not force her and patted her head instead. âOkay. Take your time with the food then. Iâll
head up and say hi before coming back down to you.â
Corinne nodded, gave him an âOKâ gesture, and then took a bite of the delicious meat skewer that he
just gave her.
After Jeremy entered the villa, Zeke handed Corinne a bunch of barbecued chicken wings and had a
meaningful smile on his lips as he said, âYou did a pretty good job training such a difficult guy like
Jeremy to be so submissive!â
Corinneâs lips twitched. âYouâre a pretty odd guy. Itâs your birthday, and you invited all these people over
to have fun while you, the birthday boy, toil away at the barbecue just to cook some wings for them.
Donât you feel tired of making your own life difficult?â
Zeke was taken aback for a moment, and his handsome eyes stared right into Corinneâs pupils with a
look of admiration.
âThe others are worried about whether or not my wings turn out okay, but youâre the only one who
shows concern about my well-being! Iâm so touched!â
He then placed his tongs down and went toward Corinne to give her a hearty hug. Corinne dodged him
out of disgust and avoided Zekeâs bear hug.
Zeke ended up hugging the air, but rather than feel awkward, his grin became even bigger.
âYouâre right! Those heartless people are enjoying their fill of food and drink without caring about me!
Youâre better than all of them! Could you watch the fire for a bit and make sure the chicken wings donât
burn? Iâll be back soon after I take a bathroom break!â
Corinne was at a loss for words because it was obvious that Zeke wanted to avoid the drudging task of
having to barbecue for everyone.
However, Corinne agreed readily because she did not want to go in and have any awkward
conversations with people that she was not familiar with. She went to the grill, flipped the chicken wings
over, and then brushed it with a layer of sauce.
She then wondered to herself, âIf those people inside are so focused on chatting with each other that
they forgot to come out here and get the food, will all these chicken wings be mine to eat? Well, I guess
itâs better for them to be so engrossed in the conversation so they donât snatch these delicious wings
from me!â
âHey, Corinne!â
A voice called out to her just as she worried that someone might come out and take her wings.
Corinne looked up and saw Sunny standing opposite the grill.
He had the same high and mighty expression on his face that was so characteristic of him. He behaved
like that whenever he saw her, and he always had this stubborn expression as well as an intense glare.
It was like she owed him money or
something!
Corinne cocked an eyebrow and answered with an insipid expression, âItâs you! Did you finish your
homework today before you came to play?â
Sunny always felt that Corinne spoke to him as if he was a little kid, so he frowned in displeasure and
said, âIâve done it all!â
âOh, thatâs great then! Go ahead and have fun!â Corinne did not want to entertain Sunny and looked
down at the grill to continue focusing on barbecuing her chicken wings.
Sunny remained where he was and stood in front of the grill while staring at her. He opened his mouth,
then closed it, and hesitated for a while before speaking awkwardly.
âAhem! Iâm sorry for what happened last time, Corinne. My brother⦠Heâs usually a good person, but
he gets worked up whenever someone mentions my missing sister.â
Corinne chomped down indifferently on the chicken wings. âIs that so?â
Sunnyâs expression became inexplicably uneasy. âSo⦠Umm⦠Youâre not angry with me, are you?â
Corinne answered nonchalantly, âWhy would I be?â
