Chapter 430
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 430
Aaron pretended to be embarrassed. âWhy me? Iâm still a virgin. Itâll be so awkward for me to buy that
kind of thing!â
Both Xante and Corinne were speechless.
Aaron was only trying to be funny to liven up the atmosphere but it did not work as both Xante and
Corinne were looking at him with disgust and with their mouths in a tight line.
He immediately dropped the act and shrugged. âOkay, okay. Iâll go get the pregnancy test. Huh! I canât
believe that 1, the owner of the Newmoon Group, am being ordered around like a little scullery maid.
Sigh! What has become of my life!â
Xante gave him a side-eye and said nothing else as Aaron continued with his blabbering. She then
started the car engine and drove to the nearest drugstore. While driving, she kept looking up at the
rearview mirror to check on Corinne.
âShe doesnât look too well after all that retching she did moments ago,â thought Xante with at worried
frown on her face.
Corinne was indeed not well. Recently, she burned candles at both ends in coming up with a design for
Holden Groupâs new building. She did not rest much even though she spent most of her days cooped
up at home. Moreover, she seemed to feel tired easily to the point she suspected she might be
suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome.
Aaron pointed to a drugstore outside the window and said, âXante, we just passed by a drugstore. Why
didnât you stop the car?â
The more Xante thought about it, the more worried she became. âI think itâs best if I bring the boss to
the hospital for a checkup,â she said solemnly.
âDid you forget that the boss hates going to the hospital?â asked Aaron quizzically.
âSheâll only need to do a blood test and that wonât take long,â insisted Xante. She looked at Corinne
from the rearview mirror and said, âBoss, you should go to the hospital. You donât look that well. You
should do a check-up even if you donât think youâre pregnant. Besides, what if itâs an ectopic
pregnancy? Itâll be easier to treat if itâs detected earlier.â
The corners of Corinneâs lips twitched uncontrollably. âIâm pretty sure Iâm not pregnant and yet here she
is worrying that it might be an ectopic pregnancy? Indeed my period hasnât come for two months
straight.â
Corinne was not sure whether her period schedule was messed up from stress or if she got pregnant
that night. In the end, she gave in to Xanteâs and Aaronâs nagging and agreed to do a blood test at the
hospital.
In the hospitalâs OB-GYN department.
The OB-GYN specialist looked down at the blood test result and said solemnly, â Congratulations,
Youâre seven weeks pregnant and the fetus is developing very well.â
Corinne was stunned at the discovery. She subconsciously touched her belly and thought, âIâm seven
weeks pregnant?â
Xante stayed calm at the news, but Aaron was tearing up excitedly. His emotions were all over the
place as he said, âMy god! Iâm going to be-â
The OB-GYN specialist immediately gave him a fierce look. âCan the dad please be quiet? This is a
hospital after all. You must not disturb the other patients.â
Aaron laughed and quickly explained, âDoctor, youâre mistaken. Iâm not the father. I was going to be an
uncle!â
The doctor frowned and said, âWhy are you so excited if youâre not the father? Whereâs the father
anyway?â
At the mention of the babyâs father, Corinne blushed. âHeâs on an overseas business trip and doesnât
know about this yet.â
The OB-GYN specialist sighed and said pointedly, âIâll let it slide this time but he must accompany you
on all future visits. Men! How can they leave all the birthing to the women? No matter how busy they
are with work, they should still accompany their wives to the hospital for a check-up!â
Corinne nodded. âYes, youâre right, doctor. Thank you for your advice.â
