Chapter 451
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 451
Jeremy checked the time on his wristwatch. âYes.â
Lucas lifted Anya off him, stood up gracefully, and put on his suit jacket. âThat settles it then. The three
of us will go over the details of the engagement over lunch.â
âOkay,â said Jeremy.
Corinne

who was still hiding behind the bookshelf and two months pregnant touched her belly subconsciously.
Her eyes were filled with coldness and irony.
âSo theyâre going to talk about Jeremyâs and Anyaâs engagement eh? Iâm sure their parents would not
object to them being together since they already have a kid together. Maybe this will be the start of
them putting away their differences and coming together as a real family,â thought Corinne.
Lucas put his arm around Anyaâs shoulders and the three of them walked over to the door when
suddenly Lucas paused in his tracks and said, âJeremy, might I trouble you to bring Anya to the
restaurant first? I just remember I have urgent matters to attend to. Iâll ask Edmund to make a
reservation for the restaurant. You two go ahead first and start without me. I promise I wonât take long
and will go there as soon as Iâve finished my work.â
âOkay,â said Jeremy emotionlessly. He did not care one way or another.
âOkay, Lucas. Weâll make a move first. Please come to the restaurant as soon as youâre done with your
work,â said Anya sweetly.
Lucas beamed a smile back at her. âYou got
it!â
Corinne heaved a sigh of relief when she heard Jeremy and Anya walking out of the office.â Phew, Iâm
safe.â
Suddenly, she felt a wave of nausea. She instinctively covered her mouth with her hand and forced the
vomit back down. âDonât make a sound, Corinne. Donât make a sound,â she told
herself.
Her morning sickness got worse lately, which she attributed to the stress and not getting enough rest.
âGah! No! I canât keep it in any longer.â
Corinne took a step back as the bile rose in her throat, causing her to cough uncontrollably.
Cough! Cough!
Jeremy was just about to walk out of the door when he heard Corinneâs coughing. His eyes
immediately shrank to pinpoint size and his hand froze in mid-air. He then turned around and looked
sharply at the bookshelf.
âThat voice! It sounded like hers!â he thought.
Anya heard Corinne coughing as well. She, too, stopped walking and turned around. âLucas, who was
coughing just now? Is there someone else in your office?â she asked curiously.
Lucas averted his gaze from hers. He scanned the bookshelf nonchalantly and lied with a straight face,
âI didnât hear anything. You must have heard wrong, Anya.â
âNo! Iâm sure I heard it just now. It sounded like a womanâs coughing. Lucas, are you hiding a woman in
here? Oooh, Iâm going to look for her!â
She could not wait to get revenge on Lucas for embarrassing her just now. This time, it would be Lucas
blushing. All she had to do was find out where he hid the woman.
A frown appeared on Lucasâ face when he saw Anya making a beeline for the bookshelf. However, he
chose to remain silent. He was not trying to hide Corinne from Anya just now; it was just that it would
be hard for him to explain what she was doing behind the bookshelf if Anya were to find out.
Now, it did not matter. There was no outsider here anyway.
âSh*t!â said Corinne inwardly when she heard Anyaâs footsteps nearing. There was nowhere to hide
anymore. Her face was pale from all that retching and she started to hyperventilate.
Anya stuck her head behind the bookshelf and her cheeky smile immediately froze on her face. She
remained like that for one whole minute as her innocent doe eyes went from shock to
hatred.
âWhat the h*ll is she doing here?â
