Chapter 47
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Annie felt bad and sympathized with Rosie. âWhat? Donât panic. Weâll find that watch together!â
Corinne squinted upon realizing where the situation could be headed to.
Sunny also joined the search. All of a sudden, he remembered something and glared at Corinne
suspiciously. He questioned, âHey, werenât you the one holding Rosieâs jacket when both of you. went
to the washroom?â
Corinne nodded. âYes, I did. Whatâs wrong?â
Sunny looked at her disdainfully. âThen give Rosie back her watch now!â
There was not even a change in Corinneâs expression. âI didnât take it. How am I going to give it
back to her?â
Sunny grabbed her arms and treated her like a thief, preventing her from running away. âYou were the
only one who held Rosieâs jacket. If you didnât take it, who did?â
Corinne remained calm. âShe asked me to help her hold on to it when we were in the washroom. I only
agreed to help her due to that.â
Sunny snorted sarcastically. âThen you took the chance and stole the watch from one of the pockets!â
With a calm face, she insisted, âI didnât.â
Obviously, Sunny did not believe her and started to act aggressively. âYour words mean nothing. Let us
search your body and belongings if you didnât steal the watch!â
Annie, displeased by this, ran over to push Sunny away. âYouâre crazy! Why did Corinne need to steal
the watch? Itâs just a watch. Uncle Jeremy will buy it for her if she really likes it!â
Sunny snorted disdainfully. âThen she should agree with the search to prove her innocence!â
âNo! Who gives you the right to do a search on her? Itâs pure humiliation standing in front of Corinne
and was determined to stop Sunny.
Corinne was the one who risked her life to save her yesterday in Twilight. It was her turn to protect
Corinne today!
Since Sunny thought Annie was in the way and was an obstruction, he tried to pull her to the sides. It
became a tug-of-war between the two of them. As a result, Corinne got pushed back and she
stumbledâ¦
Clink! All of a sudden, an item dropped on the floor.
Sunny let go of Annie and picked up the item that was beside Corinneâs foot. His eyes widened.â What
is this? you didnât steal it? How could you do it? Do you think youâre worthy to be Jeremyâs wife?â
Rosie was in disbelief as she looked at Corinne. âCorinne⦠You took it?â
Corinne had no idea where the watch fell off her body. She furrowed her brows and looked at
Rosie. Her lips were curled. âIâm sure you know it better than me if I took itâ¦or you put it on me, donât
you?â
Rosie put on an innocent-looking face. âWhat are you talking about? Why would I do such a thing?â
Enraged, Sunny rebuked Corinne, saying, âThatâs enough of you! Everyone saw the watch drop from
your body. It doesnât matter that you deny it. Why do you have to slander Rosie?â
The diners in the restaurant came over to watch what was happening. They pointedly glared at Corinne
and criticized her.
âWerenât they eating together? Why is she stealing from her friends?â
âShe doesnât look like a person who will do that kind of thing!â
âHey, we shouldnât judge a person by her cover.â
âWhat happened?â rang a stern voice.
With Jeremy back in the restaurant, the temperature of the restaurant turned down a little. His vibe was
too strong. The crowd automatically moved aside to make way for him.
Annie ran towards him. âUncle Jeremy, youâre back! Sunny insisted that Corinne stole Rosieâs watch,
and he even wanted to do a search on her!â
Sunny was unafraid, however, and held the evidence up in the sky. âJeremy, I didnât accuse her!
Rosieâs watch dropped from her. Everyone here saw it!â
Jeremy looked at the watch and tilted his head to look at Corinne with a weird look. With a stern voice,
he asked, âDid you take it?â
