Chapter 502
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 502
âCorinne! Itâs you!â
Jasonâs handsome face startled her and she finally heaved a sigh of relief.
âAh, kind sir!â
âWhatâs wrong?â Jason asked with a smile, âWho did you think I was?â
âNobody. I was just startled when you placed your hand on me all of a sudden.â
Hehe! What am I afraid of, anyway? Was I expecting Jeremy to come back and look for me? Iâm just
overthinking things!â
Jason walked gracefully to her side with a smile on his face. âDo you remember when we last met? I
asked you if weâd be able to meet again, and you said itâs all up to fate. Since you and I ran into each
other here today, does that mean fate has plans for you and me?â
Corinne laughed heartily. âYouâre right, itâs quite a coincidence!â
Jason frowned and pretended to be unhappy at her remark. âDonât just brush me off like that! Arenât
you happy to see me?â
Corinne yawned. âWhy would I be?â
Jason sighed, and leaned closer to her all of a sudden, âIâm very happy to see you though.â
Corinne remained calm when facing the charming face that appeared suddenly in front of her. âOh, is
that so?â
There was a sparkle in Jasonâs enchanting eyes, and he gazed deeply at her eyes for about half a
minute but found himself unable to bewitch her with his charm.
He could only smile helplessly at her and say, âYou were always dressed casually when I saw you all
those times before, and this is my first time seeing you dress up like this. You look
stunning.â
âThanks.â
Corinne went downstairs and looked around. There was no longer an empty place in the banquet hall.
Every sofa or table or chair in the reception area was filled with people chatting in small groups. The
last thing she wanted was to sit in those places and bother the conversations or become the subject of
those peopleâs conversations.
Jason still follow3r her with a smile as she walked down the stairs, and she wondered if he had nothing
better to do.
Corinne turned around and asked, âHave you seen Lucas, kind sir?â
Jason cocked his eyebrow. âWhy would you be looking for Lucas?â
âNo particular reason. I came here with him today, since Iâm now working as his secretary, and heâs my
boss.â
Jason was rather surprised to hear that. âWhen did you start?â
âJust two days ago.â
âOh? Is it for Nellie Nymphaeaâs painting?â Jason looked at her drily.
It was Jason who revealed to her the relationship between Nellie Nymphaea and Lucas, so there was
no need to-and no point of-hiding her reasons for working under Lucas.
âYes. I hope youâll avoid talking about this matter in front of him.â
âMy lips are sealed.â Jason smiled.
âThanks, kind sir!â
âJust call me Jason, will you? Itâs frustrating to hear you call me that all the time!â
Corinne thought over his request and decided to grant him his wish since the information he provided
her had turned out to be correct.
âOkay! Thank you, Jason.â
