Chapter 531
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 531
It had not been a few days since the last similar incident happened and now Corinne had to go through
it again? She looked contemptuously at Anya, hating her with every fiber of her being.
âThereâs no limit to how shameless this woman can be! How can she still think of herself when
her child is hurt!â
Although she did not like Anya, it did not mean she would pass on that hate to her innocent child. âThat
poor kid must be in a lot of pain/ He probably doesnât understand why itâs hurting
so much either.â
Instead of calling out on Anyaâs lies, Corinne quickly called for an ambulance. After giving the operator
the address, she hung up the phone, and only then did she say, âThe waiter was the one who
accidentally tripped, causing the soup to splash all over your kid. I tried to catch the bowl but I was too
late. After that, the waiter legged out of the room âcause he was afraid of what was going to happen to
him.â
that
Anya looked at her in disbelief. âCorinne, how can you lie like that? I saw with my own eyes you
snatched the bowl from the waiterâs hand and threw it across the room at Joey. That waiter being
falsely accused by you! Youâve crossed the line this time!â
poor
Corinne was getting more and more annoyed at Anyaâs hypocrisy so she coldly said, âMiss Anya, why
donât you tend to Joey first? Heâs crying out in pain, for godâs sake.â
Anyaâs face stiffened before breaking out in another uncontrollable sob. âAre you accusing me of not
caring about my son? How can you stand there and pretend to be worried about him when you were
the one who caused him to be like this? Is this how you repay my kindness for inviting you to lunch? I
canât believe I used to think you were a nice person.â
Corinne was tired of Anyaâs acting so she simply ignored her.
Seeing that Corinne was not going to pay her any more attention, Anya tugged at Jeremyâs sleeves
and said, âJeremy, what should we do about Joey? Oh, my poor child!â
Jeremy calmly checked to see if Joey was hurt anywhere else and was relieved to discover that he was
not. After that, he scooped him up and said to Anya, âDonât panic. Letâs bring him to the hospital first.â
Anya nodded tearfully and said between hiccups, âOkay. Letâs go to the hospital.â
Corinne blocked Jeremy from leaving and said, âIâve already called the ambulance and theyâll be here
soon. Itâll be faster for you to wait here than to drive to the hospital yourself.â
Jeremy simply ignored her and walked past her quickly with Joey in his arms. Anya followed behind but
she did not forget to throw Corinne a victorious smile before turning her nose up
in the air.
A chill ran up Corinneâs spine. âHow can she still smile like that when her kid is hurt?â
who was taking a call outside.
At that moment, Jason
was on his way back to the room and he saw Jeremy and the crying Joey in his arms leaving hurriedly
with Anya behind them.
Bewildered, he immediately asked Corinne what happened when he got back into the room.
âTheir kid was badly burned by some hot soup.â
Jason was shocked. âHow did that happen?â
A corner of Corinneâs lips went up. âWould you believe me if I said I was the one who did it?â
âOf course not!â Jason answered without hesitation. He then looked her up and down with worry in his
eyes. âWhat about you? Did you get burned anywhere?â
Some of the soup indeed splashed onto her hand when she reached out her hand to catch the bowl.
She could still feel the burning pain spreading across her palm.
However, she did not want to make a big deal out of it so she shook her head and said, Iâm fine.â
âNo. "
Jason was relieved to hear that. âThatâs good. We should go to the hospital to make sure Joey is okay.â
Corinne agreed so she nodded and said, âYes, letâs go.â
She pitied the poor child. With a mother like Anya, Corinne would not be surprised if Joey grew up to
have traumatic memories of his childhood.
