Chapter 534
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 534
Anya immediately started to panic when she heard Jeremy asked Corinne to talk in private. She turned
around and looked tearfully at him, âJeremy, where are you going with Corinne?â
Jeremy threw her a glance and said, âGo in and watch over Joey for a minute. I promise Iâll settle this
matter with Corinne as soon as possible.â
âDoes he mean that heâs going to make Corinne pay for what she did? I mean, of course, he would. I
didnât put up all that act for nothing. He must have believed my story over Corinneâs and is now itching
to punish her!â thought Anya.
Thinking of this, Anya nodded her head docilely and said, âOkay. Iâll go tend to Joey first and wait for
you to come back.â
Jeremy did not say anything to Anya after that. Instead, he looked coldly at Corinne and barked out an
order, âYou, come with me!â
Corinne did not want to talk to him but knew with Jeremyâs character, he would not stop until he got to
the bottom of who did that to his son. Therefore, she had no choice but to cooperate
with him.
After thinking it through, she simply nodded and followed him out when suddenly Jason grabbed her
arm and said, âJeremy, where are you taking her? Corinne will never do something like that. She will
never hurt a kid.â
Jeremy narrowed his eyes and gone was the politeness he usually reserved for his friends.
âYou sound as if you know her very well.â
Jason smiled kindly at him and said, âIâve known her for quite a while so Iâm pretty sure sheâs not the
type who would do something like this. Though I do wonder why you donât seem to know her as well as
me when you know her longer than me.â
Jeremy scoffed. âYouâre sure? Based on what? Your gut feeling? Or is it because love has blind you to
the type of person she is?â
Jasonâs eyes
darkened but he still kept the kind smile on his lips. âJeremy, can we at least talk nicely about this?â
âForget it, Mister Jason, itâs okay. I can settle this myself,â interjected Corinne.
She did not want to see the two of them fighting over whether she was the type of person who would
go around hurting a kid. Those who did not know might even think she was some kind of Helen of Troy,
causing two friends who knew each other for years to turn into enemies because of her.
Jason frowned and said worryingly, âCorinne, you donât have to!â
âItâs fine.â Corinne waved her hand nonchalantly and immediately followed Jeremy out to the hospital
corridor.
After reaching the end of the corridor, Jeremy entered the stairwell. Corinne did not even hesitate as
she pushed the door and entered after him too.
âAsk whatever you want, Mister Jeremy, but I must tell you, my answer is going to be the same no
matter what you ask. I didnât do anything to Joey and you can report me to the police if you donât
believe me. Besides, itâs not like I havenât seen the inside of a police station after someone wrongly
accused me of doing something I didnât do!â said Corinne as soon as she
entered the stairwell.
Jeremy did not say anything Instead, he leaned casually against the wall and slowly lit up at stick of
cigarette. After taking a puff, he fished out a rectangle box and threw it at her. âPut this on your hand
first.â
âWhat?â Corinne instinctively reached out her hand to catch the item flying toward her. She then opened
her hand and saw it was an ointment to heal burn wounds. Shocked, her pupils. immediately shrank to
pinpoint size. âHow did he know I burned my hand when I didnât even tell anyone?
